Great session. But here is where I'm not willing to give in--it's not about health care subsidies. It's about the Constitution. I feel like the Democrats' position needs to be much stronger than a couple of budgetary red lines. Dare I say, the red line is whether we acknowledge that Donald Trump is an actual president, or we insist that he is an enemy of the Constitution, and must be removed.
That "red line" is rousing rhetoric but what does it mean in practical terms? What does "enemy of the Constitution" mean? It could encompass 2/3 of the Supreme Court and all the big corporations doing their best to undermine it. More important, what happens if/when Trump is removed from office? JD Vance becomes president and all the forces enabling Trump remain in place.
