Biden's commitment to nominating a Black woman as the next SCOTUS Justice will widen the perspective and deepen the lived experience and compassion influencing the highest court's decisions
Like Amy Boner Carrot and Clarence Thomas and Kegstand are qualified. I’m not buying this “poll” either that says 70% of Americans want Biden to nominate a white male. My guess is 70% of Americans could not name a single justice, and further have no idea what SCROTUS actually does.
You wrote: "Marshall described the document “defective from the start,” referring to the authors who crafted it. He explained that it took “several amendments, a civil war, and momentous social transformation” before “We the People” expanded beyond white men to include all Americans." This gives me chills: without having ever read anything Marshall wrote, I have discovered that he and I have written similar sentiments 45 years apart! I now feel smart! Thank you for another great article Steven.
