She is running a perfect campaign. Messaging is effective, on point, and designed to elevate. Her policies have been delivered effectively. 👏👏👏

Great news on the change in attitude towards Democratic stewardship of the economy! If we can lead with a campaign to fight greedflation - highlighting how companies are keeping prices artificially high - we can show we're on the side of the majority, not the 1% who benefit from Trumplican policies.

As always, Steven, you spell it out so clearly, how could anyone not vote for Her! Every media form needs to publicize. Thanks again for your clear, concise writing.

Thanks for yet another essay chock-full of pertinent facts. Perhaps "the truth shall set you free" will make its way back into the American psyche. The way Kamala is running her campaign is indeed a view of how she will run the country. She simply checks all the boxes: knowledge, critical reasoning, good relationships, compassion, joy, and seemingly boundless energy.

The belief of the majority of voters that Trump would be better for the economy is something that always baffled me. Yes, prices are still too high and we feel it every time we go to the grocery store. But the lies from his hastily thrown together news conference yesterday were categorically wrong. He said inflation is at an all-time high when it's really at 2%, close to the Fed target, that the country was hemorrhaging jobs when we've had record job growth, and that the FBI figures that show crime is decreasing are all lies. I'm glad that message is starting to break through. It's about time.

Yes, about time! Like tariffs, so many don't know how/why inflation occurs, so they are ripe for the lies of the right. And by only consuming right wing media, they miss the repeated gains and highs of the stock market. Blind and misled. Not a good way to perceive the world.

Great news that she is messaging well. It's a huge disconnect that the conservative, whose taxation and spending policies grossly favor the ultrawealthy, are able to fool the working class and rural types.

It infuriates me that DonOld keeps spouting off his idiotic tariff idea and he still gets rated highly on the economy, proving that not only does he obviously not have the faintest idea how tariffs work but that his zombie followers do not either.

Americans in general have a very weak understanding of economics. Although polling accuracy is always questionable, I feel certain her campaign has tested polling on her positions before they become public. Also consulted with business people.

The CATO Institute, Reason, and some others (which are certainly not Dem organizations) have some public polling that tariff talk is not landing well. That is a change from in the spring.

The other part of that HI2thDoc, is DT either

doesn’t want to take in new info, or is incapable

of taking it in. He’s been saying the same thing

about tariffs ever since his presidency. It’s hard

for me to believe that no one has told him how

tariffs really work. In Trumpworld, aka Earth 2,

the facts are what Trump says they are. Reality doesn’t intrude. How people can live that way is

beyond my comprehension.

Good piece Steven! You and People like you are delivering the kind of News the average American needs to hear…and doesn’t. Trouble is…the Media can’t be relied on to deliver the plain, simple truth. No! I mis-spoke…it’s not all the Media…I used too broad a brush in the previous observation. In any event, unfortunately, in most cases it’s the Media sources that people are used to hearing…the ones that deliver the News they have always listened to…and trust???? Sadly many of these sources have become infected and, unfortunately with today’s deluge of misinformation, in many cases…just outright lying … people are bewildered and untrusting. Where do they turn in an attempt to get the truth? There appears to be no underlying sense of honor or sense of duty that applies to News reporting in many cases…not all, but many. I cite the recent BS regarding election denial or the attack on a certain group of people from another country legally living in America. The fact that both of my examples cannot, or have not been substantiated as being fact makes no difference to many media outlets and reported as seemingly fact!

Great piece today. “Lucky Loser” should be required for anyone who trusts Trump on the economy. It’s unfortunate that those “conservatives” who eschew a smaller government fail to recognize that to keep 350 million people moving forward together we need keenly leaders and institutions to help. Looking back at Trump’s hopefully only administration and his many failures and mistakes in business should convince enough folks to vote for Harris. Move Forward with Kamala or back to the stone ages and a fascist regime with Trump.

The hope that "factual reality" can reassert itself. Indeed, Steven, that is a beautiful thought.

Our task over the next 39 days is to open the eyes of those who have allowed themselves to be led blindly by the malevolent forces herding them along with the prods of dogma and superstition.

Just a few thoughts:

I'm afraid many could not follow her speech about being pragmatic. I'm afraid many do not even know what the word pragmatic means.

While Texas says foreign countries can not buy land in that state, trump wants to lure foreign businesses by offering them federal land.

What a faux pas by Vance, holding eggs, stating their price while a price sign behind him refutes his nonsense. Alert: With his eggs, dog eating, cat ladies portfolio, and trump's age, he could really become our president.

trump says he will stop importing food from other countries & that will cut prices for Americans. ( What ????)

When asked what his plan is to cut food prices, he replied "I'm not going to tell you."

Anyone up for a $100,000 watch?

Carry on, Kamala. Your inauguration awaits.

I cannot process the cheesy and snake-oil-saleman vibe of a guy running for president, for crying out loud, shilling watches and coins. What in the living hell has our country gone to? And his idiot supporters not only do not think this is unseemly and undignified, they actually pony up their hard earned cash for his crap. Charlie Sheen told Graham Norton that Trump gave Sheen some "diamond" cufflinks. Later Sheen was having other jewelry appraised and remembered to haul out those cufflinks. The appraiser peered at them for a few seconds and told him, "pewter and cheap zirconia." You can find the clip on YouTube

Republicans love to label Democrats as the tax & spend party.

So, let's label Republicans for what they are. The tax cuts, borrow & spend party.

The Biden administration's investment in America is paying huge dividends. And VP Harris is part of that effort. But the fickle American voter, ever impatient, expected things to improve much more quickly than it did. It takes time for a $25.5 Trillion economy to make course corrections. And for this election it looks like that correction has come just in time.

What Kamala Harris has is something most right wing politicians (*and* justices) don’t have, seems to be work experience. It’s hard to imagine JD Vance with a paper route. Both he and Trump were propped up by ultra rich patron and father; Leonard Leo props up two-thirds of SCOTUS. Blanket deportation of immigrants ignores who, exactly, will fill those empty jobs.

And all these politicians/jurists never have to worry about going hungry or homeless; they are all, it seems, protected by wealth and station—they won’t know, don’t care.
