Thanks for this! It made me cry actually. Like Dan Rather this week expressing similar thoughts and feelings, yours caught me by surprise and I cried. I have been ignoring the news, polling etc. I learned to distrust it all after 2016. 2020 only reinforced it. I am trying so hard to be hopeful and hope my fellow Americans who care about all of these things quietly outnumber the louder ones who are the minority. Fingers crossed.
Thank you, Steven, for saying what needs to be said. Giving up is not an option as long as we’re engaged in a war of attrition with the MAGA wing of the GOP. That’s what they are counting on which is why they flood the zone with every ridiculous thing they can. We must hold fast and push back at every opportunity. I am thankful that high profile folks like you are out there rallying Americans and reminding them what’s at stake.
I played this again this morning (after Election Day, when Democrats, particularly the youth--as my sons said they would--came out fighting), and I feel uplifted. Together we stand.
