Keep it up! Clearly it's going to take more than happy thoughts and unicorns to make this nightmare end!

I’m in...joined! I read your information and want to keep informed as it seems every day there are issues to be aware of. I so desperately want a better American democracy for all.

It can happen.

I’m in. We can’t be silent. White supremacy will destroy our democracy and constitution if not challenged. Thank you!

Great. Thanks!

I have felt silence was not an option also. I had to do something. Sharing information and people’s thoughts was what I could do. And you were one of the people who I relied on so I would not despair too much. When one’s own family won’t hear reason, supported Trump, and won’t even let you talk, the people on Twitter I followed kept me sane. You were one of them. Thank you.

Hi Steven,

I am intrigued, and will subscribe because I love reading content that on its face appears to be diametrically opposite of my current thinking and perspective. But, seeing as how new ideas change old thoughts, I look forward to considering your point of view.

I started publishing my content at riclexel.substack.com and invite you to take a look at a view point you may not be as familiar with.

thanks,

Ric

Hey, I’m in! Like so many others, I read your work & have noticed the change in you. There are so many of us that are surrounded by Trump bullies & it would be so easy to be silent. We can’t be. But sometimes, I don’t feel like I’m armed enough with the facts to speak up. But, your tweets & your appearances on MSNBC, have given me courage. And given me hope. I’m so glad that you are sharing your perspective (which has never been wrong) and your thoughts. It makes me feel better prepared to deal with the challenges we face. It also inspires me to do additional research to better prepare me for dealing with people. I must say that this is an answer to my prayers. Thank you for seeing the need and stepping up to help. If we all step up, with our different skill sets, we could defeat this ugly unAmerican political sham. Again, thank you!

Thank you. "If we all step up, with our different skill sets...." I couldn't agree more. The days of assuming our democracy will hold are behind us.

The practice of trimming the majority that is against the new GOP's vision of white nationalism is now in the wide open. Steven, you and I are old enough to remember when both sides promoted the goal of pervasive participation in democracy in general and elections in particular. As long as the overwhelming voting majority was lily-white they were down with the ideals of democracy.

Now a coalition of whites and POC makes it almost impossible for them to compete. Hardcore gerrymandering and voter suppression is their path. Remember in the beginning when there was a faction that believed the unwashed masses weren't up to choosing the right people to run the government? The GOP finds itself exactly there again. dangit! 😕

We used to imagine there were people of good faith across the political spectrum who were committed to the ideals of democracy and voter participation. Not anymore. This will be an ongoing struggle in the coming years.
