Maybe Schumer and the entire Democratic Party can't figure out how to stop Musk. But there's 30 million grandmas and 27 million grandpas on Social Security. And they won't put up with his crap.
I can hear my granny now: "Get your grubby hands off my money, you little Twitter shit. Mess around with me and my old friends and we will kick your ass. Get out of my government!"
Elon and his side kick co- president can "Cry me a river", We need to call out what they are doing for what it really is, TREASON against our country and citizens. As Americans loose their jobs, consume contaminated food and water, loose their healthcare and die; this regime continues to destroy our country with their own lust for power and greed. Stand up for the survival of our county as we the people are (and will be) shedding real tears of pain and suffering. Together, we must Press On Regardless!
I wish it were just a lack of self-awareness. I see a more sinister motivation--ramping up the "violent left" rhetoric to pave the path for martial law to control the terrorist threat.
Yes, I think he’s starting down the path of something like anyone who protests is a terrorist. We know from DJT’s first term it took military leaders to put the kibosh on shooting protestors - even “just” shooting them in the legs. I saw yesterday that he’s appointed Mike Flynn to the West Point oversight board. A big proponent of martial law.
A few other interesting appointments including Charlie Kirk and Steve Bannon’s daughter.
I do not support violence or vandalism, but the people who are lashing out at Tesla with violence and vandalism are feeling politically powerless and unheeded as the MAGA-infested Republicans continue to allow Musk to chop away at vital agencies and services. Heck, most Republican senators and representatives will not even attend meetings to hear their constituents' complaints.
Yes, Republicans expect Democrats to be "responsible," and they take advantage of that as we saw with the Continuing Resolution to fund the government. They behave like uncontrolled two-year-olds who expect the grown-ups to give in to their tantrums and the specious lies that accompany them.
Most Democrats do not engage in violence because we have the empathy that Musk and the MAGA-infested Republicans lack. However, they should not mistake that for an unwillingness to hold them to account for their anti-democratic actions. We are doing so in the courts, and we will do so at the ballot box.
For anyone who wants to strike a blow against Musk, the best way to do it is to contribute to the Wisconsin Supreme Court race where Musk is spending unlimited millions to try to defeat Susan Crawford, the Democratic candidate. This state race has national implications.
These are probably angry folks committing crimes at Tesla sites, but we don’t know who they are or their true objectives. Musk is already blaming people benefiting from the “fraud” he is stopping, “the Left” and mentioned Democrats. I think that will be their story going forward with many embellishments and dangers ahead for us.
There are groups known to use these tactics which are not the hallmark of Dems. Violent anarchists for one. There were the troublemakers who traveled hours for the purpose of mingling with George Floyd protestors to commit crimes (“umbrella man”) and deliberately incited violence under the guise of being “liberals”. They were hoping to spark a civil war. Extremists who use violence often have no political party affiliation or it is fluid. They have an agenda. We saw that with the 2 individuals who tried to shoot DJT.
Thank you, Ann. I wondered too if those doing the vandalism were other than frustrated Dems knowing we’d be accused. A non-driver, I’ve never been to a Tesla dealership tho I wonder about those who work at them & to what harm they may come. (Yes, evidence of my extreme empathy.) I concur: donate, make calls, write postcards for local, state & Federal elections. Sen Jon Ossoff (D-GA) faces a critical race against Kemp. Sen Ossoff needs our support more than Musk will be hurt by damaging dealerships.
I agree that we do not know who committed the violence. It could be a Republican, Democratic, Independent, or non-voters. It could be someone who wants to create anarchy. I am not sure that I would trust an FBI investigation under the current leadership. So many good agents have been let go or demoted, that I do not know if they even have the ability to investigate as efficiently as they did in the New Orleans attack or the exploding Tesla truck in Las Vegas. And if their findings did not have propaganda value, would they even be released without distortion?
Fox has no real journalistic use any longer, if it ever did. It is a now a pure megaphone and echo chamber for the worst of the spew that emanates from the right.
“I think we just have a deranged, some kind of mental illness thing going on here,” he said. Yes! Look in the mirror. Long and hard, until you see what the majority of the world's population can plainly see. And then, get therapy.
Absolutely oblivious. If it doesn’t affect them it doesn’t matter . They’ve ( Musk and Trump ) tried to destroy our Democracy , take peoples jobs away illegally , destroyed agencies that do good things for people . Set up bigotry as a main tenet of their agenda. Stripped deserved honors from “certain
members of the Military”. Guess?
Black and Brown Generals , Women , tried to destroy history by deleting records of honor for these minorities , as well as Navaho Code Talkers.
Why? They are constructing a false story of America because they are so intimidated by deversity, they just cannot be grownups. Pitiful.
First, a long pause. Next, a deep, deep breath. Then, center and focus. Those acts will ameliorate somewhat my overwhelming sense of anger and outrage. Or, is that all-out "rage"? No matter. Ketamine Rambo and his orange-tint sidekick are a lethal toxin putrefying our nation. They do not give one healthy damn who they harm or hurt; or destroy. Their freon-laced veins insulate them from genuine human emotion. To this day I do not understand why Musk has not been arrested and placed in prison. How many breaches of privacy and ethics has he committed? He has disgraced OUR Oval Office at the invitation of the "First Chair" who has equal amounts of disrespect for the office of the president. Their destructive zeal is ruining our nation, to their joy and celebration. We must take our country back -- NOW.
He hasn't been arrested because Trump carefully put his toadies in charge of federal law enforcement, and has threatened state and local law enforcement with loss of funding, and even prosecution for failing to cooperate.
We see the latter in the fact that DC Police, called by the Institute for Peace to prevent DOGE busting in, instead *helped* DOGE break in and kick out the real employees.
Who's going to arrest anyone with the power Musk now has?
What this goes to show is that the payback aimed at the one thing that he cares about (his wealth)
is really having an effect -
I hope that everywhere in the United States and around the world that the payback continues until even those that are supporting him turn against him because he’s not just losing his money. He’s losing money for them too.
Like the "MAGA people" who are just starting to realize that Musk/Trump is threatening their Social Security and other stuff they didn't realize came from "the government"?
There are some who will never understand and will blame someone else. I think this story of Elon’s an attempt to provide a target for their blame.
But there are others who are noticing. I caught a little of Rachel Maddow’s show last night. She had a group of trump voters who were upset that his actions are causing chaos; he’s not addressing reducing costs and they are worried that he’s acting like a dictator.
Gosh gee whillikers!! Whoever would have thought that 47 would behave like this? I mean, other than the 50+% of people who did NOT vote for him. Like the people slept saying “Read Project 2025” but then decided they didn’t want to worry about that because LDFF “didn’t have anything to do with it”, and of course he’s known for his veracity. Well, his incapacity for veracity:->
Isn’t politics in general “known for … veracity”? These aren’t folks who read gigantic reports or were looking for the nuts and bolts of policy.
The purpose of ‘flooding the zone’ with noise, people turn away from politics. Voters were tired of the noise. There is a direct correlation between paying attention to the news and who people voted for. The less info they took in the more likely to vote for DJT.
Those who said they didn’t have any news sources were prime targets for social media info bits in their feeds. For instance, the Orange Menace’s campaign flooded social media used by Hispanics with memes connecting Harris to communism. Once seen, can’t be unseen. Repetition is key.
For other groups, different messages and all through the campaign messaging on bringing down the cost of living.
Throwing out the governing party happened in democracies all over the world after the pandemic. Trudeau’s party was 20 pts behind in polling until DJT hit them with tariffs. Now they are about even. Germany is seeing the rise of nazi-aligned extremist party & interrupted 2 coup plots (2022, 2024).
Simple lesson for Musk and Trump: when you don’t play nice in the sandbox, other little kids may, and often do, throw sand back at you. You can even get yourself kicked out of kindergarten altogether.
Nate Silver recently wrote an excellent analysis of Musk. Musk has high scores in the attributes that venture capitalists value. He has very low scores in what Mr. Silver describes as emotional intelligence, judgment and wisdom. In other words, he has excellent engineering skills and an ability to find solutions to complex problems. These skills make him well suited to running start ups. He cannot, however, read people. I believe he is truly surprised by the reaction to his slash and burn approach to our agencies.
I would describe him as having a hole in his soul the size of the pacific ocean. He simply is incapable of experiencing empathy. His lack of compassion does not excuse his behavior. It does, however, explain his inability to understand why people are angry about his behavior.
Another entitled delusional whiner. No wonder he and Trump are such pals.
Add “narcissistic egomaniac” to the description.
Maybe Schumer and the entire Democratic Party can't figure out how to stop Musk. But there's 30 million grandmas and 27 million grandpas on Social Security. And they won't put up with his crap.

Trump and Musk live in the world of Bad Faith. The rest of us are living in the world of Good Faith. They pass like ships on the ocean.
How do you stop the Bad Faith humans? You start by saying, out loud and proud: STOP.
Elon and his side kick co- president can "Cry me a river", We need to call out what they are doing for what it really is, TREASON against our country and citizens. In Musk, as in Trump, there is a an inseparable melding of ignorance, arrogance, psychosis and greed.
I wish it were just a lack of self-awareness. I see a more sinister motivation--ramping up the "violent left" rhetoric to pave the path for martial law to control the terrorist threat.

Good point. Distortion is their game.

Wait a minute….isnt empathy “toxic”???
Ah, yes. I remember hearing the term "Weaponized Empathy" being used recently.
🤣👏🏻😘👏🏻💗
What was it that Bugs Bunny used to say? “What a maroon!” 😏

And Elon is perplexed? Please , cry me a river.
When you’re the hero of your own drama, no need to read the script … or the room.

That was terrible. DC Police screwed up. It isn’t even a federal building & is an independent non-profit created by federal statute.
As a DC resident, that was so horrific that I couldn’t understand how it was authorized.
It's whatever Donald wants, and whatever Elon wants.
Musk and Trump are lessons on how shitty, mean, cruel, self centered humans can succeed in the world: Start with $200 million from your daddy.
Everyone else in the real world operates with mutual respect. Or they fail.
Poor Elon! 🥵

I don't see it that way. I see him rallying his troops, the MAGA people getting ready for a fight.
Like the "MAGA people" who are just starting to realize that Musk/Trump is threatening their Social Security and other stuff they didn't realize came from "the government"?
No, like the MAGA people who follow blindly and will never understand what's going on.
There are some who will never understand and will blame someone else. I think this story of Elon’s an attempt to provide a target for their blame.
