Thanks for this reporting. I saw the report on a pirated website. The story was compelling and horrific and provided evidence that CECOT is an example of what Trump depicted as the “worst of the worst.” Except it wasn’t. Seeing those men brutalized, tortured, in sub-human conditions not fit for man or beast only serves to demonstrate just how bad our own leadership is. If you could find any words to sufficiently describe what is happening. It’s a mix of 1984 and Animal Farm which predicted just how badly things can get out of hand when leadership stoops so low.
I was an early fan of Bari Weiss and agreed with much of what she had to say about the bias in the major news media. But gradually one could see who became her contributors and supporters. They were not political orphans like myself but right wing leaners with a bone to pick. As an unapologetic Zionist Bari Weiss offered her opinion about the war in Gaza but there was nothing unbiased about it. And that’s OK but if one wants to be fair and unbiased that’s one topic that really lent itself to debate at least about how far Israel was willing to go before it stopped the destruction. And I didn’t hear that coming from her. The sellout to the Ellisons and their connection to the fascist regime in Washington sealed the deal for me.
Thank you Mr. Beschloss for providing the link to the CECOT Video, it was very depressing to watch and everyone involved in this process should be behind bars. Happy Holidays and I am glad you are in the fight with us.
Bari Weiss is an aggrieved person. That doesn't qualify her to run a television news organization. Or much of anything else. Being aggrieved doesn't make for a good journalist. Before I became a reporter, a veteran newspaperman told me: "Treat your subjects with compassion, not contempt. Hold them to account, of course. But your readers will detect your contempt and won't trust you." I think Bari holds journalists in contempt. She should step down.
Contact the sponsors of 60 Minutes. Let them know you won’t be buying their products if they choose to support what is essentially state sponsored censorship.
I don't have cable so I don't watch the show, but I did a search on the sponsors and came up with this vague answer:
"60 Minutes is sponsored by various companies through CBS<</'s advertising sales, with major ones like Toyota, GE, and John Hancock historically involved, but specific December 2025 sponsors aren't listed publicly; expect typical big brands like auto, tech, insurance, and financial services advertising during breaks on CBS.
How 60 Minutes Sponsorship Works
Network Advertising: 60 Minutes airs on CBS, so its sponsorship is part of CBS's overall ad sales, not a single entity.
Major Advertisers: Past and regular sponsors often include large corporations like:
Automotive: Toyota, Ford.
Technology: Major tech companies.
Financial Services: Insurance (John Hancock) and banks.
Pharmaceuticals & Luxury Goods: Common for primetime network shows.
Finding Specific Sponsors
Watch the Show: The best way to see who's sponsoring in December 2025 is to watch the commercials during the broadcast on CBS.
CBS Ad Sales: CBS Media handles these spots, but doesn't typically list 60 Minutes specific sponsors publicly."
The depths to which this administration will stoop has no limits. The current censorship, and likely control, of most main stream news is clearly Fascism. And the idea of my USA shipping people off to destinations unknown, to be tortured, should sicken all Americans. But, tragically, it does not.

Thank you for posting this story, Steve. I hope it gets wide distribution, wider than it would have gotten if it had only appeared on 60 Minutes. How unbelievably horrendous! I can't imagine what it must be like for CECOT prisoners.
Thanks for sharing the story that was pulled from 60 Minutes. I haven’t watched it yet, but I’ll watch it when I can handle it, since I now know where to find it.

We should all block CBS
What a shame. And kudos to Sharyn Alfonsí and to you and all the people who are raising their voices to keep our democracy.

Thank you, Paula.
I wish I could be more helpful.

We shall rise above this. ✌️🎁

After the 2026 elections the new Democratic led congress will have a lot of investigating to do. Have a Merry Christmas!
"It’s the responsibility of all of us to refuse to turn away and do what we can to reject the Trump kill switch."
May our opposition never cease. Else, we will be complicit in this evil.

Yes, I agree, Bari Weiss (The new “Wicked Witch) is purposely poisoning CBS
and
offering up -
in embarrassing supplication to Trump - his own “Kill Switch”
with which to
maliciously murder Truth.
Democracy must embrace and champion Truth to survive!
Light Love
Truth Hope Peace
Wishing you the happiest of Holidays, Steve!
