Tim Walz is a force. Great communicator, solid background, terrific achievements. Absolutely the antithesis of the money grubbing liars on the other ticket. Yes, as you said, Steven, his record as governor of Minnesota portends great things to come in Washington. Let's give him his chance!
Thank you for sharing this commentary on Democratic VP Nominee Tim Walz!…. Excerpt:

“Growing up in a small town like that, you learn how to take care of each other. That family down the road, they may not think like you do, they may not pray like you do. They may not love like you do. But they’re your neighbors. And you look out for them. And they look out for you. Everybody belongs. And everybody has a responsibility to contribute.”
A public school teacher. He certainly wasn't in it for the money. But then what price can one put on nurturing children to grow into the best versions of themselves? What price can one put on teaching children to be kind, compassionate and caring? What price can one put on teaching children to allow their imaginations to soar as they learn about the world around them?
Isn't Gwen Walz just wonderful: her enthusiasm when she speaks; her darting glances to make sure she is reaching everyone in her audience; her expressions of love and joy when she listens to speeches by others? I see my wife, Kitty, reflected in her. Thank you Gwen for carrying the mantle.
If anything speaks to Kamala Harris' ability to make informed decisions on her feet, it is her choice of Tim Walz to be her running mate.
Thank you Kitty, Tim, Gwen and Kamala. I can finally hold my head up high as an American with my Indian and English family and friends.
We are in the best of hands. But we are all in this together.
I just read the Wall Street Journal's front page coverage of Coach Walz. The critical article about Walz on Page 1 and A4 reminds us that Rupert Murdoch owns the Wall Street Journal. Which requires us to be wary of every "hard news" article in the paper. Murdoch is a charter member of the World Autocrat Club. His writers will mix fact and snark and lies and innuendo to badmouth Democracy and those who support it. It isn't paranoia when they are really out to get you. And the Autocrats are out to get us. Converting America into Russia is very much in their interest. See Anne Applebaum's new book, Autocracy Inc.
Once again, an emotional night for us. And as has been said before, the Democrats sure know how to throw a party. What an impressive “guest list”, each one bringing a bouquet of love and affection for the country, the candidates and for each other. This morning’s commentary reminded me of shopping for a new car: You’ve seen what you want, you’ve actually kicked the tires, you’ve considered adding some extra features, and then the “salesman” surprises you with something you never expected. But unlike a new car, there’s no warranty, expressed or implied, certainly not for the life of the vehicle. Yet it’s really enticing. Getting back to the convention and the upcoming election, I’m buying whatever they’re selling. And remembering the words of President Obama, that they’re only human and there will be bumps in the road ahead, I’m thinking that this isn’t really betting on the future; it is the future, one that makes me happy and satisfied that we, and they, will give it their all for a better America, a better society in which everyone will have a shot at a wonderful and joyous life. And, the best part, we do it together, without Trump whose next home might be behind bars. VOTE BLUE FOR OUR FUTURE HAPPINESS.
Tim Walz’s rise over the past few weeks has been nothing short of extraordinary. He is so relatable as we all know someone like him, have met someone like him in our public schools, have been helped by someone like him who lives next door. I think he’s great for the campaign and is already connecting with voters everywhere. I can’t wait to see the contrast between him and Vance on the debate stage.
With all his invaluable and abundant experience in the political arena he will decimate Vance. Not to mention all his life experiences in public service.
Walz is the perfect compliment for Harris. Between them they reflect the lives of a huge swath of America. He is also a great spokesperson for her and the Dems. His speech was concise (brief by convention standards about 15 minutes) but thorough. He delivered it like a master.
Tim will make a great offensive tackle or staff sergeant major as VP for President Harris. He knows his job and should fill the roll beautifully. Now, all we have to do is work to get them elected and keep on working so they have a solid team behind them in Congress as long as they are in the White House. We can’t ever let our support structures fail so that significant, positive changes happen in this country and in this world. I want Lady Liberty and Lady Justice to stand tall here again; not dissolve under the toxic cloud of a Project 2025 type agenda.
This is my take-away too: “Growing up in a small town like that, you learn how to take care of each other. That family down the road, they may not think like you do, they may not pray like you do. They may not love like you do. But they’re your neighbors. And you look out for them. And they look out for you. Everybody belongs. And everybody has a responsibility to contribute.”
The Walz family are normal; they are us. There’s no pretense. I totally understand why Kamala chose him. He loves his family and she loves hers too. He loves to laugh and Kamala does also. They both look out for the everyday people, regardless of their economic status, gender, creed, or color. Tim’s son, Gus…his tears of joy was overwhelming in the very best of ways. Then you have someone like Ann Coulter who wrote horrific hints on X about him. But Ana Navarro responded with “Jesus. What ass-wipes. Of course Republicans and Trumpers on social media taking shots at Gus Walz. You have to be a special kind of heart-less mutant to attack a 17 year old special needs kid not involved in politics for the simple act of expressing love for his father.”

Tim Walz may be the living embodiment of doing the right thing in America today. And who it is we want to be as Americans. Honorable.
So here’s to our great good fortune that Kamala is our candidate and what good judgment she’s shown choosing Tim as her vice president.
And for Joe Biden for recognizing Kamala as his vice president.

Murdoch has screwed America so much. An Aussie whose right wing lie machine is banned in Australia.
You’re not wrong. Murdoch is another under my good riddance column.
You are so right Wall Street Journal by Murdock, is another version of the Inquirer’s stupidity, very sad.
I don’t think there could have been a better VP pick than Tim Walz.
Wasn't that wonderful ?? Wasn't that wonderful ?
We are so lucky.

Please beat Baby Trump.

Tim Walz reminds me that I have to bring 'I' to the party, show up, for possibility to be manifest. This morning I wrote this poem:
A More Possible I
It is so easy to get confused
When I get stuck
In the world of What Is, existence.
Then Venus circles my ring finger
And I am struck
By the word possibility.
I am able to see with my two eyes
Free from world’s gluck
There are three is in possibility.
That third i, I call my mind’s eye
Allows me to pluck
From the world of All That Could Be.
It is the eye in imagine, dis, wish
That loads a dump truck
Of feelings into my vocabulary.
It is i that changes mean to meaning
Brings good luck
Essentializes my trajectory.
