Thank you for accuraty referring to Trump's 34 felony convictions as due to his falsifying business records. Most in the media have done a tremendous disservice by calling that the " hush money trial" - that makes it sound like the whole thing was that he didn't want his wife Melania to learn that he had been unfaithful

I don't see how anyone will trust the US again. Even after he's gone there are still all the people who enabled him: voters, Republican legislators, the Court, etc. If they can enable one idiot they can enable others. If I were Canadian I would never look at the US the same way again.

Yes Paula! So many of my friends say that all this insanity will be over when this trump lunatic is out of office.

NO!!!! Despite all the blatant lies and corruption, the 70+ million voters and republican legislators are still there to do their mischief again and again. So utterly discouraging and yet we who appreciate our democratic institutions have to suffer and fight harder than ever to keep democracy alive and thrive. It’s our new reality, our greater responsibility.

We have no choice.

He's shown them all the way, Brian. They may not inspire followers the way he does, but they'll do the same things. It's exhausting but we have to keep fighting.

Why on earth are we allowing a sick, malevolent and evil thug who is wholly owned by an equally malevolent, if more intelligent and cunning a dictator, Putin, to remain as our "President?"

This nightmare of a charade has to be brought to as rapid an end as possible.

For those who might not yet be convinced that Trump is a Russian asset, what difference does it make? Look at the evidence: every single act of Trump's is designed to destroy our values, tank our economy and ruin our alliances. Who else does this benefit but Putin?

Well, enough! We're making a start by taking to the streets on April 5th. However, we will have to keep the momentum building by shutting the country down until this regime falls.

Senseless, embarrassing and just plain stupid. But then, we’ve come to expect as much from Trump. What I still struggle to understand is how a majority of Congressional Republicans can continue to ignore the harm this is causing to their constituents, our nation, and their reputations.

Republicans believe in Trump. They like his policies which are the same as Reagan's. The Republicans in Congress are acting as they believe. They are not afraid of Trump. They agree with him!

I recently returned from six years living in Canada. What a beautiful place, kind and sharing people. Until recently, an unshakeable friendship. Heartbreaking. Like a divorce on the scale of nations; no sharing of fault here. An unfaithful partner if ever there was one, sleeping with the enemy.

He (rump) has done irreparable harm to America. Now he talks of a third term…I sincerely hope he doesn’t make it to the next weekend…let alone the midterms. Why isn’t the Democratic Party forming some sort of government ‘In exile” Their silence and inactivity is shameful (Except for a very few that are brave enough to stand…Oath Bound, against the MAGot onslaught)! I will never again donate a nickel to…nor VOTE for, a Democrat or Independent who was in office during this terrible time! I sincerely hope all that voted rump into office have a hard time sleeping at night…especially the Guys that didn’t have the Testicles to vote for a Woman President!!!! Or for that matter, the women…for whatever reason they didn’t either?

Thank you Steven for this sad commentary. I live on the other side of the Ambassador bridge, in Detroit. The Canadians I have talked to are very angry and rightly so. I hope and pray more Americans wake up to what this evil man is doing.

Americans overwhelmingly disapprove but that does not deter the Orange Menace.

His solution is to monkey with elections. The SAVE Act is coming up for a vote in the House to do most of what he wants. It’s passed the House before and died in the Senate. It was reintroduced in this House.

You think things are $$$ just wait. Oh and you farmers wow crops and no where to go and to the unionist I heard interview yesterday NO Union hiring will decrease in the near future a yes you may be laid off when auto production slowed because no one wants to buy a car that is $10000more than last year.

So the solution is to get your self up and vote all republicans out of office now!!!!!!!!!!

As individuals we are weakened. As a whole, in the resistance, we are many and growing larger and stronger with each display of discontent. Let’s get into some good trouble! Get out there on April 5th and each subsequent day of resistance.

when I was growing up, Canadian coins circulated freely here in Washington (well, at least pennies and nickels, but those could buy more that a quarter's to a dollar's worth of stuff today). When I came back from a trip to Canada in high school, the ONLY think we had to do at the border was discard the apple we had bought during our trip--which was WA's problem not Canada's . My parents fished in the Strait of Juan de Fuca and nobody CARED which side of the Strait they were on.

Now we are treating the Canadian border--and the Canadians--as the southern border, keeping out hordes of unruly Canuks. But of course, they don't actually WANT to come here any more. Vacationers from Canada are way, WAY down. But who cares about the economies of the usual vacation destinations when you can be TOUGH TOUGH TOUGH on Canada for no intelligible reason at all.

KKKaroline Leavitt goes on about the "unfair" high tariff of Canada for some dairy products. That's been in effect for YEARS and is doing what a tariff is supposed to do: protect the dairy industry of Canada. No one really cares; it's not that big a market for the US dairy counterparts. But a tariff on aluminum? There is no aluminum producing industry in the US to protect because we have almost NO bauxite in the US.

Trump is an idiot. I'm thinking of getting a tattoo that says that. Do you think this will make me an enemy alien, grandmother subcategory, and stuck on a plane? I can just see trump deciding that Democrats are an invading nation. And claiming the courts don't have the power to dispute that.

This is ludicrous. One would believe a system so complex would be fail safe. There should be layers of intellectual checks and balances of economic experts. How can one person control the ruins of so many people's welfare?

Because a president is allowed to choose his advisors. All he learned his first term was to take over the GOP and then only add people to his administration who share his goals & will do whatever he says.
