This is why the blue wave is so important in 2026. If the Democrats can take the house and senate, they can impeach Trump. Shouldn't be hard to find grounds with all his self dealing from the White House.

Which is precisely why I fear the MAGAt administration will do their best to prevent the 2026 midterm election. My guess is that they will provoke civil disturbance and then cite that disturbance as a pretext for not holding the election. Or maybe they'll do what they're doing now. Making up non-existent emergencies to call up the National Guard or regular military to suppress protest (i.e., voting). Somebody in the military chain of command is going to have to call the DoD on an illegal (unconstitutional) order right away, and not wait until a ruling on that order crawls its way through the courts. By that time, the damage will have been done.

Trump needs Republicans to win the midterms to overturn the two-term limit. Good grief, the guy will be 84. Chuck Grassley needs to go. Not just because he is 93, he denies Democrats a forum in committees.

I served. I could not, in good conscience, obey these orders. I would put down my gun and walk away. Go ahead and give me a dishonorable discharge. For what? Being honorable?

However, impeaching Trump isn't going to solve much of anything, even if he's convicted. 77 million USians voted for Trump in 2024, knowing full well what he was about. (And if they didn't know what he was about, we have another problem: the dismal ignorance and/or unapologetic racism of the white US electorate.)

The grounds are there. So is the cult.

Hope you’re right Tom. Having managed to slither and slime his way out of just about any law breaking obstacle to hinder his agenda of self indulgence, the cynic in me now has to see it to believe it.

I’ve read he is concerned about that. Maybe he thinks it will hurt his chances for a Nobel Prize. 🙄 Sadly the odds of Dems taking the Senate and getting 60 votes to convict = not realistic.

Thank You Steven .. No I will not give in or give up.. I saw that a reverend was hit in the head with a paint ball .. They shot at him from the roof of a building. He was a man of the cloth. He wasn't holding a sighn or doing anything .. This is a nightmare. Also a story from the HILL said that Republican Senators are stressed over Trumps troops in these blue cities . They reported that Republicans said when the dems get in they would do it to them. I'm sorry, I have a brigde to sell people if they believe that . No no no .. that is not it . They lie and make me sick.

They know the dems won't do such a thing. What really concerns them is that the American people might vote them out of office for the coming decades. I will do whatever I can for our country .. I won't leave if I see ICE going after someone.. I contribute to campaigns..I attend the protests.. I try to talk to people calmly .. If anything else is suggested I will do it. I love our country . I want all the younger generations to have a messy democracy ... thanks again ..lost in america

I saw the Religious News article posted. Apparently this minister being shot with a projectile is not new or unusual!! AND the minister said after he was hit and fell to his knees people nearby ran to assist him the agents continued shooting. Of the agents he said:

“We could hear them laughing”

No wonder conditions there have attracted the attention of religions leaders. The article includes mention of lawsuits: “Although most of the plaintiffs are journalists, Black is named as one of multiple clergy and faith-based demonstrators who, lawyers argue, have fallen victim to violence that violates the Religious Freedom Restoration Act.”

Bondi was despicable in Congress. I cannot believe she is in that position. She went to a 4th rate law school and seems to have gotten her job now simply based on her ability to engage in disgraceful behavior.

Ann Sharon's avatar

Various types of disgraceful behavior. As AG in FL an organization supporting her candidacy got a donation from the Trump charitable foundation (illegal donation).

She personally solicited the donation from Trump while a decision by her office was supposed to be deciding whether to join in a suit against Trump University. Obviously she decided not to sue. The only humorous line in the story is when she says “I would never lie.”

I sense and sympathize and I’m sure I reflect the same fatigue caused by the relentless egregious pursuit of everything unlawful and unkind by these usurpers of: Justice and of human decency.

The deepening dark coldness of Bondi and Stephen Miller and others as they dispense lies and snide retorts can be so shocking it can be disabling, …ONLY if we allow it.

We can find on this platform others to hold, nurture, and care for and share courage and hope as we find ways to peacefully fight back.

I WILL NOT give up!

We have each other.

We are the majority.

Prayers and love to everyone

There is a “No Kings” rally here in deep, dark Southeastern Alabama at the Courthouse in Dothan, Alabama. I’m 76 and I’m going! I missed the last one, no Dothan, just Montgomery and it’s too far. But I going to this one!

The evil troika as duly noted pollutes, corrupts and poisons on a daily basis. Their cancerous toxins must be excised from our country. We have but a short time to quell this monster. Otherwise, we the nation will become their permanent hostages and victims.

Trump kept saying on the campaign trail that he "needed to finish the job." The media didn't call him out on it. This is what he means. Good grief, he brought a case to the Supreme Court about presidential immunity on the campaign trail. Why does one need immunity unless they are planning crimes? Crimes are different from breaking the law.

ICE need protection? Why do people who brutally rip people from cars, kidnap them, and zip-tie children in the middle of the night need protection? Local law enforcement should be protecting the children. These are Mussolini's black shirts. Trump calls the media the enemy. Why? Because he can manipulate and threaten it. Mussolini controlled the newspapers. He was also executed and thrown into a mass grave.

I am so annoyed with Harris. I was hoping she would pick Pete. He would have been perfect. We would likely not be in this situation. Her reason for not choosing him is very lame. I was excited about reading her book. Not anymore.

There is an interesting split the baby moment from Oklahoma Gov. Kevin Stitt, the chair of the National Governors Association (NGA). Despite trying to straddle several issues dear to the heart of those who pass as “conservative” these days, he said this on behalf of his state:

“We believe in the federalist system — that’s states’ rights,” Stitt said. “Oklahomans would lose their mind if Pritzker in Illinois sent troops down to Oklahoma during the Biden administration.”

This happened today, Thursday, Oct 9th — after Pritzker and Newsom had threatened to leave the organization if it didn’t stand up against the TX deployment. (Whitmer of MI quietly withdrew from NGA last month over what she called lack of bi-partisanship.)

Courage is needed all around. Military commanders, refuse unlawful orders. All the administration needs is one crazy on either side to start shooting, and they declare martial law.
