Thank you for shining this light. I tend to forget what I'm searching for in the dark.

I can't imagine what our country will look like if the GOP is successful in stealing the next election. This is looking increasingly likely.

It is obvious respecting and protecting our democracy is NOT the goal of the GOP. The billionaires and corporations are working hard to control everything including the GOP. There is no trickle down it’s trickle up! It is distressing that this package has been whittled down but at least it’s going to be there. Biden knows he has to get as much as he can knowing the opposition doesn’t care about the well-being of 99% of the American people including their base who cannot see beyond their racism and hatred to realize they are in dire shape too and their leaders will never do anything to help them.

you do realize that Zuckerberg, Bezos and Dorsey are billionaires, right? Please enlighten us on what is trickling down from them...

I was making the point that nothing trickles down, only up.

Sorry it took so long to write, but I have been thinking of what this country has descended into. I tried my whole life to honor the person next to me (unless they were completely dishonorable) and what did I get for it. I remember TFG as a young man. He never changed and he never grew. The premise that he would become President of this great nation was laughable. But too many people listened to his drivel and lies. A pure sociopath. Disruption is the name of the game for him. All you have to do is look to this advisors; Steve Bannon and the other embarrassment in the White House. He brought everyone who came within his scope down and, with it, this country is dealing with so much division and hatred. I, myself can't stop being angry. I take care of the people around me. I try to help my neighbors. I don't know if we can help those who won't help themselves.

The rule for qualifying for the highest position in the country must include release of 2-5 years of taxes and psychological evaluation before becoming a candidate.

what will that prove?

Tfg is the proof. If he had been interviewed for a company’s CEO position, do you think they would have hired him?

Tfg? but my take is that a lot of CEOs are criminal. If your point is that a CEO would make a better president than Trump, ok. But wasn't Trump the CEO of Trump Inc? jus sayin

I am not saying to hire a cEO. In a nutshell, we should scrutinize and thoroughly vet the person we hire for the most important leadership position of the free world. I think a CEO makes a poor choice.

I tire so of argumentativeness and contention as normal conditions.

I disagree with your assessment of 1/6 - your fellow writers here on Substack, none being Trump acolytes, like

Greenwald is this https://greenwald.substack.com/p/feeding-the-liberal-flock-the-real

or

Taibbi in this one https://taibbi.substack.com/p/activism-uncensored-undercover-agent

or

https://mtracey.substack.com/p/in-radical-affront-to-civil-liberties

you do your readers a tremendous disservice by not just completely ignoring facts that totally dispute your description of this event.

I don't lie to my readers by omitting the whole story. I trust my readers enough to know that they are in control of their emotions, so this type of slanted reporting doesn't work on the rational.

I dare you to actually read those three pieces I linked to, and come away with the same opinion.

Thanks

Ric

In America, one would hope that those who have been duped would be punished justly. The organizers of the insurrection should, and shall, wear the titles we won’t hang on those who were misled.

ric leczel's avatar

ok, a couple of questions

1) who was duped? the protestors? the public?

2) being "duped" is now a crime to be punished?

3) who do you believe were the organizers? there are many non-Trump supporters, see links above, that believe the organizers were the FBI, and there is some evidence to support that

4) again, who was misled? I believe it was the public, and still is

You said it. The “public” who are now facing charges were duped. Ask Ginni Thomas why she bussed people in on 1/6 what their purpose was.

I love non-sequiturs, thank you very much! I literally linked to 3 major media journalists in-depth articles about that day, published here on Substack.

Your comment makes we wonder if you only consume a particular brand of news.

The “major media journalists” who are all supporting the Big Lie in some form or another. The “journalists” who keep adding air and fuel to the fire. I read them, but no I don’t subscribe to their “notions”.
