As angry and ashamed as I was about what happened to Garland at the hands of my once Rep party, I see a silver lining in all this. I believe Attorney General is the role that Judge Garland was meant to play. He, like many Americans, will have the first hand experience of the misuse & political dishonesty of 45 & his administration. He experienced the manipulation of the Constitution & rule of law and the distribution of false narratives to cover shameful practices of 45. He has a clear understanding of what the Justice Dept needs and I trust him to put solutions in place to safeguard the Justice Dept. from undemocratic values in the future. I am hopeful for our future. But, we all must remain diligent. We must continue to repair what has been broken. We must continue to register people to vote. We must continue to make ourselves aware of the truth & speak the truth. It’s going to take the entire team, all Americans, to act, to become the America we are, instead of the nationalistic America that a minority of the population wants us to be. 🇺🇸😷👍🙏

Thank you for writing this. I feel like crying with relief. Of all the horrible things McConnell has done, his treatment of Garland stands out for me. Your thoughtful words give me hope. And yet the despicable Cotton is trying to throw roadblocks to his confirmation. I agree we must be vigilant but I don’t know what I can do.
