Most post-election analyses of Hungary's astounding victory over fascism, show that Magyar's emphasis on the Orban regime's corruption turned the tide. That and the insistence that there be accountability in the wake of a win. Corruption. Accountability. Affordability. Any candidate for the midterms now and the presidency later must be willing to embrace these winning positions for their campaigns, for a promise of the New American Dream. All the mishigas of the Trump years has only made us stronger, more determined than ever to reform, renew and re-establish Constitutional primacy, rule of law, and the gift of the American Experiment.
He also connected it to very real issues they faced in their daily lives. Because Orban was in power so long he through his family and insider circle were able to redirect fund$ & busines$ to themselves all the way down to the local level.
Town wants to upgrade streetlights and apply for EU funds made available to Hungary? A consultant must review, approve & recommend — everyone was directed to the ‘consultant’ in business with Orban’s son-in-law. All approvals came with recommendations to the company owned by Orban son-in-law. (The EU froze the funds & Orban claimed Hungary would pay.) There’s drone video showing areas completely dark at night where the ‘work’ was ‘completed.’
When it was Hungary’s turn to to host the EU meetings delegates came from all over the EU. No matter what facility they chose for reservations, they were cancelled & rebooked at venues owned by Orban family & friends.
The list goes on and on. Like a venn diagram it overlaps with the US where no one except insiders could see. For instance the allegations that Hungary was secretly making payments to CPAC where Orban was treated as a hero.
I have Hungarian friends here in the US and they were so stoked by the election. It's all, hopefully, a harbinger of good things to come for us. Fight the Might!
I am requesting that all media outlets stop focusing in Trump, who is not up for reelection. Please there are only 5 months to the midterms, focus on the GOP congress who has completely enabled him. They are all up for reelection. If we win the house and senate in large numbers we will cut him off. Please started exposing the Mike Johnson, Jim Jorden, Cruse, Graham, and every other MAGA elected Officials.

If we're fortunate enough to vote in an ethical president in 2028, he or she will have a lot of work to do.They'll have to rebuild a functional administrative state, system of justice, and trust with our former allies. The work ahead may take several administrations.

The wealthy can work for each other at minimum wage, get a second job, or pick up pop cans. I suggest workers demand equity. Piggies-pay up.

Steven, nice recap of the current plunder and mayhem activities. Our Constitution has been twisted up like a pretzel, thanks in large measure by the Supreme Court, both political parties are owned, lock stock and barrel, by our oligarch class. And still, on any given day, about a third of our fellow citizens are okay with this situation. And now we have a President who has declared an illegal war on a country of 94 million people, because he thought it was a good thing to do, and our political system is helpless in correcting this situation. What I find extraordinary, is that a vast majority of my fellow Americans think the midterm elections are some how going to all fix this. This is a systemic imbalance of power, which is baked into our political system at its core. A few marches and an election or two will not put this train back on the track.
And what do you want to bet that the weak-a$$ Dems, IF they can get the “Ban Presidential Plunder of Taxpayer Funds Act” passed at all...will allow it to go into effect AFTER 47's stint!!
The galling part…he is totally immune from prosecution and will continue to be for whatever he did…does…until when???? What about crimes perpetrated against foreign Nationals outside American territorial limits…or while on international Waters? For example…the suspected drug Boats…the crews of which may have been suspected drug dealers or…they may not of been!! What if he was abducted to stand trial. There has to be loopholes. Trump has always used them to avoid responsibility/prosecution why can’t they be used against him?? In any event…Thank You SCOTUS for NOTHING!!
