You are so correct about that. The media must keep telling all about what Trump & Musk are doing. Why is Elon Musk acting like he belongs in our government? He has not been elected by anyone.

It’s actually good when Steven Beschloss is “wound up”

“The Executive order does not allow him to override the Power of the Purse..which is only in control of Congress.”

I have been researching the statutory language of all the laws trump is breaking. So while looking at those which control USAID I found this tidbit which connects with all the fuss about DEI and trump's executive order declaring that there is no such thing as gender.

It is 22 U.S. Code § 2151–2 - Actions to improve the international gender policy of the United States Agency for International Development. Yes, there is a STATUTE about encouraging gender equality and inclusion. It is worth reading (https://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/text/22/2151-2). It was passed in 2019. Gee, I wonder who signed it into law????

I keep wondering when the techbabies are going to figure out how to change the language of the US Code.

More to the point is Rubio taking over USAID (and independent agency) to be "sure that it follows US Policy. Congress actually beat him to it, as to what US policy IS. 22 U.S. Code § 2151 - Congressional findings and declaration of policy (https://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/text/22/2151

I challenge any congressperson to read it aloud on the floor of the house or senate and say with a straight face that what it says about-- as you described "winning the hearts and minds of the world for America" --is something Americans do not believe it. Congress has CHOSEN to fund this effort, which has been working since 1962 and doing its job to help us win the Cold War and the War on Terror. Not to mention things like stopping diseases before they spread to us.

I wish the media would do stories about this. All of them. The American People need to know that it is actual laws being broken and what they are. Just as much as breaking a law against cyber crime or fraud.

Susan, did you send this to your congressperson? If not, you should do so. I have to say that the one person who has been sounding the alarm about Project 2025 and Leonard Leo and Russ Vought is Sheldon Whitehouse from Rhode Island. He has been doing this for over 8 years, investigating them all.

Why haven't' Musk and his acolytes been arrested? What they are doing is illegal.

What laws are they breaking, exactly? They're usurping Congress's authority for sure, but I'm not sure that's actually illegal, and if it is, what jurisdiction brings charges? It would be nice if Congress would act but if wishes were horses . . .

As I watch the hijacking of our constitutional democracy unfold, I am perplexed and dismayed. I can "see clearly now" how the enemy within works. It is not about making things better for the people. Oh, hell no! It is about robbing America's piggybank and disrupting/damaging the lives of everyday Americans. We must be more vigilant than ever. The cast of criminals is hellbent on destroying our republic. One executive order at a time is designed not to make things better for day-to-day Americans. Nah! It is fully intended to make THEM better off and ever more powerful.

Maybe you already follow Dave Troy, if not check him out -- he's a treasure trove on Blue Sky & elsewhere -- so much info about a lot of this craziness - read his America2.news, he connects a lot of dots, "Project Russia", (how to bring down Democracies); also follow Jim Stewartson, substack "Mind-War", Russian PsyOps, origin of Q-Anon (he has a great documentary about how in part it was taken from code he and another developed for Alternative Reality Games in the early 000's I believe. ) Follow Heidi Cuda, Jim Stewartson & HiFi on Radicalized Truth Survives on YouTube about the PsyOps war underway against the US - for a long time -- tRump is an outgrowth of that I believe, from the 80's -- Musk as we now know has also been talking to Putin for quite some time -- our gov't has not faced this head on (too scary for us I think I heard) -- and of course add in the Heritage Foundation and Project 2025 -- everything gets amplified to our detriment -- and here we are :-(

Yes, we need a free and competent press. What I am worried about now is the 'tech boys' who have control of the internet stopping folks like you from reaching people like me. Do you have a plan for continuing if that happens? I want to know how to get information if they titans pull this plug.

Thank you guys -- I appreciate your work and your speaking out so much. I'm calling and writing to my Senators and Rep, sending info to my neighbors & more -- with enough noise I hope we can stop this coup -- these totally inhumane, illegal, dangerous and egregious actions.

Not arguably-- truly, incontrovertibly a coup.

Thank you for this reporting, and the three sources. As a supplement, here is Lawrence O'Donnell last night. A fabulous piece of journalism. There is a clip of Kennedy--

It is true that we need a free press reporting accurately. A huge round of applause for Mark Pocan (D-WI) for introducing the Eliminate Looting of Our Nation by Mitigating Unethical State Kleptocracy (ELON MUSK) Act that seeks to ban special government employees from obtaining federal contracts. This is the first indication that perhaps Congress has decided NOT to cede its power and authority.

the media listing what's going on is NOT STOPPING this... we need the d's in congress to put on their "big boy big girl pants" YESTERDAY... every hour we read and wonder and fear is another hour of doing nothing.. we need the CONGRESS to do this we cannot..we can call our reps

I’m glad for the reporting we are getting. Van Hilliard (MSNBC) earlier today said that if you look at Project 2025 you will see that the plan was for USAID to be a pilot for getting rid of federal employees and replacing them with their hand picked replacements.

While Musk is free to do all of this, it leaves the Orange Felon to have Bibi join him in front of the media and announce a couple important things — suitable only if you consider Bibi is the first foreign head of state to be at the WH and has a warrant out from the ICC while having charge as against him in Israel for corruption.

He again repeat that Gaza is basically destroyed and Gazans need to go to other places - permanently in “nice houses.” But that wasn’t bad enough. He then proposed what I can only described as a real estate deal.

Long-term ownership by the US. the U.S. would "take over the Gaza Strip" and "own it”.

“We'll own it and be responsible for dismantling all of the dangerous unexploded bombs and other weapons on the site, level the site and get rid of the destroyed buildings — level it out. Create an economic development that will supply unlimited numbers of jobs and housing for the people of the area. Do a real job. Do something different."

As was later pointed out by an analyst, the Muslim world will not take kindly to this. Aside from the moral, ethical and colonialism — It risks the security of our country and its citizens at a time when the DOJ, FBI and airline safety is in turmoil. Our military, intelligence & national security are at their weakest in my memory.

I have been fiercely writing and calling my senators and congressman. I want them to be as angry as I am. I want them to bolt through their Republican “colleagues” doors, like Judy Chu (CA) and Gwen Moore (Wisconsin) did and ask them what the hell is wrong with them!! Enough with diplomacy because the gloves are off now. We are pissed that the Tesla Pastey-White Scum has any access to OUR government’s systems! How is it that our congressional leaders couldn’t even get into the buildings? Excuse me, but these are WTAF moments! Change doesn’t come about until the populace speaks out and that’s what we are doing. The free press, not legacy media, will be our informants. We cannot let Putin and China infiltrate our nation any more than hey already have.

The evolving coup d' etat shows how a good portion of Americans don't care about what is going on in government. They don't know how the real government, managed by competent civil servants, helps their lives, directly and indirectly.

They will soon find out.
