Yes, we are now joining forces with the baddies. But we can course-correct, beginning with the mid-terms.

Here I ask DC press celebs: If democracy worked and we all sued FOX NEWS the year after they were formed and the MAGA types sued FOX NEWS for the lies/fraud that caused the MAGA types to vote against their interest... would the right wing nuts/liars/frauds have caused the wars, etc?

Are the (still innocent)Russian children drafted by Russia and sent to their imminent death in Ukraine being deprogrammed or encouraged to defect? Can the "Global Gullibility Epidemic" be dealt with better after it's realized that:

Up to 60% of anxious people are cured by placebo. But placebo can be anything (if it's fascism... we are "Goners"..?)

He is going to do anything and everything to keep us from having a free and fair elections, including the possibility of denying election results when he loses.

David's avatar

Is he going to stump for Putin in Russias next election?

Steven Beschloss's avatar

Probably. Although that election’s outcome is not in doubt.

Karen Bennett's avatar

He already did by *rolling out the red carpet for him* on his visit here. Horrifying.

He’s offering Hungary our tax dollars.

“My Administration stands ready to use the full Economic Might of the United States to strengthen Hungary’s Economy, as we have done for our Great Allies in the past, if Prime Minister Viktor Orbán and the Hungarian People ever need it,” Trump wrote in a post on Truth Social ahead of Sunday’s vote.”

Yeah, an economy touting a $39 trillion debt requiring over $115,000 from each U.S. citizen (citizen, not household) to pay it off. And Bozo increasing it by leaps and bounds.

Ann Sharon's avatar

He’s taking us down and the global economy with us. Doing all the things authoritarians do - but bigger because we are bigger. I feel certain his defenders would point out Argentina ‘only’ drew down $2.5B and paid it back with a little interest. The $20B currency “swap” doesn’t cost anything(?). All that info comes from Bessent.

I have no idea how currency swaps work, but I do know as of April 12, 2026, the Argentine peso (ARS) is trading at about 1,370–1,375 per US dollar (USD) and more stable. But at the time of the ‘swap’ it was ‘only’ about 1100 to 1.

Previous presidents didn’t have big slush funds for games like this. Another gift hidden in the Big Ugly Bill. Obviously we aren’t going to pay off the debt. Carrying debt when used as a tool in the right way isn’t bad. This is not that.

When it’s owned by your adversaries and former allies who are becoming more alienated by the day & confidence in the US is shrinking — that’s downright dangerous. Add to that debt and try to push the US and the global economy into cryptocurrency instead of the dollar 🤯 China no longer owns the most US debt. It began restructuring its economy & holdings in T1.

If Orban loses, 47 will probably offer to let him live rent free at one of his golf motels.

Vance's presence in Hungary is a disgrace .

Dawn Kucera's avatar

I agree completely. What in his résumé qualifies him for this level of negotiations?

Judy Steiner's avatar

What happened to America First? Trump is willing to help Orban with Hungary's flailing economy, ignoring that America is in a downward spiral he created.

Paula B.'s avatar

As he did for Argentina. I don't want my tax dollars used to prop up dictators, and that includes in this country. As I see it, Trump owes us all a refund.

Sandy Walsh's avatar

So we have money to back an authoritarian, to give billions to the “Board of Peace” (ie line Trumps pockets), build grotesque monuments to Trump, fund an illegal war, deploy a gestapo like force across America, warehouse human beings like they are sardines, etc. etc., but we can’t afford to feed children, pay for daycares, Medicare, social security, VA healthcare, etc. etc.?

J Circosta's avatar

Yep, & the Rs in DC are happy to comply. The Republican Party’s role in all of this disastrous “admin” needs much more attention. It should be featured every day by Dems, but also through a broad spectrum of communication: billboards, flyers, editorials, etc, etc. Rs are not just afraid of him getting them primaried, they like the draconian policies.

Jacqueline Garcia's avatar

It is inevitable to course correct in the mid- terms. This action taken by our president AND Vice President should leave all Americans appalled and disgusted…backing a dictator- interfering with another country’s elections??? Where is this heading?? We know now what MUST be accomplished in the upcoming mid- terms!!!

Save our democracy and our country !!!! Do the right thing!!

J Circosta's avatar

It seems Trump & his backers, sycophants, & corrupt aiders & abettors like Bondi, have turned their hatred on not just immigrants but America & Americans. They degrade life in the US every day for those of us not in the 1-2%. The Republican Party appears to share those feelings bc they never make a peep. They must be voted out up & down the ballot.

Paul Mohan's avatar

Hell right ! Just delete "It seems..."

Sharon C Storm's avatar

We have enough problems here in the US, and JD and the felon are sending taxpayers money to foreign governments to buy votes. It’s way past time to oust these corrupt grifters, and replace them with patriots who believe in and support democracy.

J Circosta's avatar

Yes, & Trump & MAGA are Ok with sending aid to Hungry, thinking they can buy the election for buddy Orban , all the while yammering about aid to Ukraine. Gee, what could the difference be? (starts with a P)

Carla Vanatta's avatar

This is encouraging and I pray for a fair and clear election defeating Orban!

It’s either the wisdom of fairy tales or the naked egomania at hand, but I am always delighted to see the old stories in the news. This time it’s The Three Little Pigs. Preparation and hard work, collaboration and creativity stands up against someone who at the end is just hot air.

Seeing Vance there in Budapest endorsing Orban filled me with hope that his corrupt reign will finally be over after sundays election.

Ann Sharon's avatar

It’s over earlier than anticipated - only 37% of the vote in. Amazingly the ‘strongman’ has conceded.

BUDAPEST, Hungary (AP) — Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán conceded defeat on Sunday after what he called a ″painful″ election result, ending 16 years in power for a powerful figure in the far-right movement allied with U.S. President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin.

“I congratulated the victorious party,″ Orbán told supporters in Budapest. “We are going to serve the Hungarian nation and our homeland from opposition as well.”

EGP's avatar

Why is there time and money to politically and economically support Orbán but nothing of those for American cities, citizens, states, and repulsing foreign influences?

Jared Brenner's avatar

Trump hates being associated with a loser so I am concerned that he is certain that Orbán has rigged the election in his favor.

Paula B.'s avatar

Possibly, but if that were the case, why does he need Vance?

Ann Sharon's avatar

Trump tends to picks lots of losers when he wish casts. The results became clear much earlier than anticipated (after counting 37% of the vote).

I sure hope the Hungarian people stand firm in their rejection of the authoritarian rule they've been subjected to. That would be a big loss for Trump, et al. If it can be done there, it can be done here. It sickens me how much damage Trump and his gang of grifters has done to our country in the eyes of our world. I just want my country back and never want to hear the name Trump again.

Steven Beschloss's avatar

A name that will long live as a traitor.

Trump and Vance praising Orban is not new. They have been promoting Orban and his style of governing for over a year. Especially Vance. Get rid of Trump and you get an Orban acolyte.

Ann Sharon's avatar

Yes, and even before that Bannon went to Europe about 2018 to set up a training center and boost rightwingers. For a variety of reasons like lack of cash, he came back to the US. This is a bigger effort than just supporting Orban. Orban is their torpedo at NATO. AfD which Vance and Musk publicly supported is now the most popular political party in German — and can be connected to groups involved in 2 coup plots. In 2018 or 2019 emails Bannon wrote to Epstein about it and it seems he implied it could help certain business endeavors of Epstein’s if the right groups won elections. Le Pen was one who was mentioned. One of the messages said:

“ I now am advisor to Front; salvini/ the league; afd; Swiss peoples; orban; land and freedom; farage; - next may is European Parliament elections-- we can go from 92!seats to 200--shut down any crypto legislation or anything else we want”

The happiest person in DC is Ted Cruz*-Why?

Because no one is more loathed than JD Vance

He is a sniveling, bootlicking ass-kisser with no convictions other than acquiring power & $$$

His Senate seat was bought by Peter Thiel who now owns him

Trump's power has diminished greatly except for GOP Traitors who are only loyal to him not US!

From HCR:

"Trump continues to try to shore up the international right-wing authoritarian project even as people are turning against it"
