Are the majority of the voices in the legacy media not aware of how dangerous a game they are playing by falling in line behind the buffoon who occupies the office of President? I mean, have they forgotten who this guys is: a malignant narcissist and criminal thug who lies every time he opens his mouth to speak; a traitor who has attempted a violent coup and is now placing our military on our streets? This idiot's pronouncements have all the credibility of King Canute's in commanding the tide to stop. But the members of our media - with notable exceptions - trip over themselves in their rush to report his every social media post as if it were gospel.

Steven, the commitment to the truth that Mark and you display is admirable. But how do we build all the wonderful voices on Substack into a unified roar?

I think too many are afraid of being seen as “unAmerican” or on the ‘wrong side’ of history instead of being on the right side of facts.

NYT is reporting this afternoon that:

— “A preliminary classified U.S. report says the American bombing of Iran’s nuclear sites sealed off the entrances to two of the facilities but did not collapse their underground buildings …”

— “… the Defense Intelligence Agency report indicates that the sites were not damaged as much as some administration officials had hoped, and that Iran retains control of almost all of its nuclear material …”

More concerning, because we know Israel wanted this attack:

— “ … Some Israeli officials said they also believe that Iran has maintained small covert enrichment facilities that were built so the Iranian government could continue its nuclear program in the event of an attack on the larger facilities.“

Ann, the bombing of the nuclear sites was Trump's attempt to reinflate his ego following his sinking poll numbers, the disaster of his military parade and the growing numbers of peaceful protesters on our streets.

However, the whole world should not have to pay such an incalculable price for this sick man's depravity.

I agree. He envisioned meeting with NATO as the conquering hero. The bombing also occurred after Pakistan said it was recommending him for a Nobel Peace Prize. He’s long been in a weird competition with other presidents.

This could be another ‘mission accomplished’ moment. Then my question is, what does he destroy next looking for a ‘win’?

He is delusional in thinking that he would ever qualify for the Nobel Peace Prize, but he craves that honor because it was bestowed upon President Obama.

As for your question, I fear he will destroy whatever he has to in his drive to become a dictator. He has placed troops on our streets here, in Los Angeles, as a precursor to doing so across the nation in order to declare martial law and (in my opinion which is still in the minority) to call off elections.

Well, martial law is certainly in their plan. OTOH, I read that he’s concerned about losing the House in the mid-terms and being impeached again.

Trump’s family were great believers in Norman Vincent Peale and the ‘power of positive thinking.’ Add a narcissist wannabe dictator and it looks like this is what happens.

I'm still stunned by how easily the so-called mainstream media are suckered by Trump. Fool me once, shame on you; fool me a hundred times, shame on me. Trump isn't a new face on the scene who might deserve a wait-and-see attitude. He's a very well known quantity. If/when we get through this with our democracy at least salvageable, the journalism profession needs to do some rigorous self-examination, and the process needs to include people like you guys and Jennifer Rubin and Katie Phang and Allison Gill who left the MSM and set up shop elsewhere.

He got his intelligence from Bibi and Faux Noise. They were cheering him on because it would make him strong and presidential. What has happened, is we have lost 1/2 of our payload of MOBs. Not to mention the human toll taken on the airforce to deliver this I'll thought out attack. Thanks Steven! You are the media!

The Senate was furious today - at least Dems were - because of the last minute postponement of a briefing on the bombings as required by law. The administration was going to be asked about intelligence reports. Perhaps that’s why it was cancelled.

JD Vance and the president have said to ignore intelligence reports or that Gabbard was wrong. They will need a better performance now that at least some of the contents of the preliminary classified report on the bombings was reported on by NYT this afternoon.

From the article:

• “A preliminary classified U.S. report says the American bombing of Iran’s nuclear sites sealed off the entrances to two of the facilities but did not collapse their underground buildings …”

• “The early findings conclude that the strikes over the weekend set back Iran’s nuclear program by only a few months …”

• “Iran retains control of almost all of its nuclear material, meaning if it decides to make a nuclear weapon it might still be able to do so relatively quickly.”

Various analysts have said there were indications Iran appeared to move material from the sites before the attack. Quite believable because the sites have long been viewed as target by Israel and the US. While Bibi was urging DJT to join the war & bomb the sites, here’s what NYT reports at least some Israeli officials thought:

• “… that Iran has maintained small covert enrichment facilities that were built so the Iranian government could continue its nuclear program in the event of an attack on the larger facilities.

° The White House took issue with the assessment. Karoline Leavitt, a White House spokeswoman, said it was “flat-out wrong.”
