As an artist, I agree. And it isn’t only the famous, the ones who command audiences of thousands and are known world wide who should speak. It’s ones like me who paint or draw or write poetry or play their guitars at town square summer festivals. Paint our feelings, write our angers, strum our hearts for our communities. Be brave and spread courage. Thanks to artists.

In 2006 Crosby Stills and Nash protested the Iraq invasion and displayed a huge anti-war canvas at a Reno concert. My cousin was so disgusted he left. I’d love to see the young musicians speak for democracy!

So true! So very true! All artists in all forms of art whether performing, literary or the fine arts can be keen observers and truth-tellers in their unique forms of free speech. Such is a great power to inform and pursuade the intellect and emotions. No wonder tyrants fear the artists. History is repleate with episodes of dictators trying to suppress and control artists. When I think of protest art, I think of Picasso's "Guernica" painted during the Spanish Civil War (1936'1939). A woman, Dora Maar, asked Picasso to comment in an artist's way on Hitler's Condor legion bombing of the Spanish town of Guernica and of course, he did in 1937. That very famous painting named after the the town was his commentary. Any fine artist or art historian could explain it's historic significance and truth-telling much better than I could. Support the arts!

Just the fact of how much it got under Donnie's thin orange skin is all the indication you need to know that what Springsteen said had an impact and was worthwhile. Everyone with a soul and any kind of fans should do this and do it often.

The remarkable but unremarkable thing about Trump's rant against is how much of it applies to himself. Consider this about Springsteen: ". . . he's not a talented guy - Just a pushy, obnoxious JERK," and this about Biden: "a mentally incompetent FOOL, and our WORST EVER President, who came close to destroying our Country.” And squeezed-out oranges ought to be careful who they call a "dried out prune."

To put it in the language of the playground: "Bounces off of me and sticks on you, like glue."

Lol. The language of the playground and also the school bus. Avoiding "cooties" was crucial. Since cooties were invisible, it was hard to tell if you'd been stuck with them. If you were, you gave the cooties to someone else and yelled "Detour, no retrace!"

Bravo Bruce Springsteen who has always stood on the side of the Working Americans

Just listen to 2014's "The Ghost of Tom Joad" if you have any doubts

Or 1984's "Born in the USA" which is really about his critical stance on the Vietnam War & criticizes the US government for its treatment of veterans

In Trump, GOP & MAGA world only artists like Lee Greenwood & Kid Rock deserve platforms?

I believe all artists must use their powerful platforms to preserver Free Speech & speak "Truth to Power"

In fact, we could use a powerful Anthem of resistance right now like The Doobie Brothers "Taking It To The Streets" (1976)-https://youtu.be/gh6BfGdffQw?si=ovRZMMALDba59uMC

Good for Mr. Springsteen. It takes guts to speak against this deeply corrupt and cruel regime. I would wear trump’s temper tantrum as a badge of honor. As trump veers drunkenly toward the cliff I believe more American patriots will speak up. Congratulations Mr. Springsteen, I am proud of your courage and patriotism.

Every American has the right to speak their mind, even to criticize the government. Where they do it is not really the issue. Emperor Trump is objecting to the fact that it was done at all because he wants to stifle dissent. And having a famous artist criticize Donny and the Grifters is more than he can tolerate.

It is kind of funny that it cuts deeper for him when “stars” don’t worship him. Remember the fake endorsement he ‘truthed out’ by Taylor Swift?

(Donny and the Grifters) that could be a great title & tagline.)

It's amazing to realize (yet again, as I've been re-realizing this since the 70s), how eloquent our musicians are. Their lyrics are often overlooked because of the pure power of the instruments and voice. But here, Springsteen paused the music to speak the lyrics plainly, giving a summary of our present condition that is just about perfect.

Yes, more please!!
