Thank you for this important message. Surely democracy cannot hinge on one man’s penis envy???

If this had been President Biden, it would’ve gone viral. Stop coddling the moron. Beyond repulsive.

I canceled my subscription to the Times because of this. I’m not sure why the media is doing this, but we consumers of news can penalize them for not providing good journalism.

Politico is a right-wing rag. Anything they say is suspect.

Why are we, as a nation, faced with the real possibility of plunging headfirst into an abyss? Is there no common sense anymore, are there simply no guardrails? Why is this horrible specimen of humanity, this narcissistic sociopath and convicted felon, even allowed to run?

Wouldn't it be wonderful if we had an agency to represent us, the people, and to enforce our laws without fear or favor? We could call it, say, the Department of Justice.

Politico is a disgrace and a disaster! They know better but they don’t want to lose their Republican audience?

"This is the kind of media normalizing of Trump that has convinced far too many Americans that he’s not the danger for our country that he is." Bingo!

Canceled NYT many months ago. Still hanging on with the WaPo -- family tradition, I guess. (Father read it daily from the time I was 10 years old.) Also there are some important international stories that are not covered in the life/sanity-saving substacks that I read daily.

Ditto on the substacks. I found them earlier this year, an oasis into which I plunge daily.

Maybe Politico was playing too much ‘both sides’ to get an interview with former chief of staff, retired General Kelly. They missed the boat on the headline and they missed the real issue in NC. The numbers of people seeking help in North Carolina were less than FEMA anticipated because words have consequences.

The media has also missed a big story in North Carolina about how multiple federal agencies with FEMA coordinating have worked with Baxter and the state to get IV supplies. Baxter supplies 60% of US dialysis & surgery IV fluids to patients hospitals and clinics all over the country. The factory was flooded; some products were contaminated; the two bridges were washed out; and we know about damage to roadways. I suppose it would get in the way of the Trump headlines to counter that narrative with the gigantic efforts were and are being made to ship the remaining supply and get the factory ready to ramp up to pre-flood production levels.

The perverse, warped, lewd donald trump has set the agenda for this election since his loss in 2020.Why is that? His unpredictability. People wait to see what's next, and the media will cover it.

He tells Jill Biden to get that fat pig off the couch, but with backlash, meant all women to do that and get husbands to vote for him. Kamala is called a s**t VP.TV repeats it.Then the photo op at Mac

Donalds not called out as such for enough time that people believe it. I only once saw the video of him standing alone gobbling french fries straight out of the carton like a pig would eat. Like DeSantis and his pudding fingers. Wait to see what tomorrow will bring. We have been programmed to think this is exciting, funny, entertaining stuff. Tune in. Stations will repeat whatever all day/night.

Then, there is Kamala. Good plans to help middle class Americans repeated at every appearance, same things, same words, over & over so it seems, until it gets 'Ho Hum.' Has become like Biden's campaign was.

Staff needs to come up with some imagination, attain that rush she had at the beginning. trump is beating her with a bus to Penn State, but maybe she could walk along a voter line in Gettysburg, hand out buttons. Remind viewers this was the place Ike whom everybody liked including Democrats, chose to live clear back in the early century, then after the presidency. Point out he won the war, not Hitler's generals. How could a fascist win in PA, cradle of American freedom?

Find a construction site of moderate priced homes being built and imitate Jimmy Carter-pound a few nails , open some kitchen drawers, remind us that everyone deserves a nice , safe place to raise their children. Take a picture with some of the Ohio Haitians, eat dinner with a family. Video a talk with one of the generals who say trump is unfit, a moron. They are already on his retribution list anyway. I know it is not the military way, but help!!

Maybe these sound silly, a waste of time, but something needs done to get trump out of the news cycle and her into it.

Such common sense suggestions.

With a campaign staff of dozens of presumably smart people, why no good, intuitive plans like these?

Instead, they are clicking keys to flood my inbox with three hundred (I counted today) requests for donations. They could be asking for ideas instead.

Your suggestions are far from silly. I have to note, however, that your juxtaposition of a photo op with the Ohio Haitians and eating dinner with a family conjured up an image in my twisted mind of eating a pet dinner with an Ohio Haitian family. Is it that I'm just a sick puppy (sorry)? Has my mind been warped by the MSM sanewashing? Or maybe both? :-)

Or maybe skip that one. : )

Perhaps Politico will explain away General Kelly’s remarks about the unfitness of Trump to return to the White House, and that he wasn’t ever fit for the job. Oh wait…Kelly was there. Hard to explain that away.

I posted this on Steve Schmidt's The Warning, just yesterday:

Sadly, it is the ONLY thing that drives the media today. So, however, wherever, whenever they can get clicks, and thus revenue, is their true objective. For most, truth and honesty in reporting and actual journalism went out the window years ago. For the rest, the audience isn't big enough or have enough of a reach or algorithm amplification.

I keep posting this quote, but it's appropriate in these times: "Outrage is the engine of our modern media economy" - Jon Stewart Daily Show 5/20/2024

____________

To me, this info NEVER reaches the folks who need to see it. We know this about TFG and will vote accordingly. In a DM with another reader, I said this normalization of TFG is like a morphine drip. There is constant availability of nonsense and when presented with information that could actually help them, they are inundated with more nonsense right on their phones that distracts them from the truth and just confirms their already long established bias. He has convinced them he cares about them (he doesn't), he's a brilliant businessman (he's not), that they are victim's of the "other" (insert whomever you want as the enemy that threatens them) and he will save them, and that only he can makes their lives better (he can't and 4 years proved he won't). It's a pathetic pile of BS, but they don't and will never see it. This is authoritarianism playbook 101 and he's executing it perfectly, with the help of his sycophants and the media.
