why does the press WANT access? Asking questions just results in lies, as you say. Just freakin' say "no thank you, got a beach to sit on. Asking seagulls gets us more truth."

You DO realize it that if you pronounce K's name as Leev-it you get the command to make a dog drop something unsavory?

Apparently Reuters is on the banned list now.

What is the point of “access journalism,” when all that’s accessed is lies? I’ve been waiting for more than a decade for mainstream reporters to fight back. Instead, they say, “Thank you, sir,” and dutifully note the latest claptrap.

It should have been an “I am Spartacus” moment when the press corp should have stood up for the outrageous outage of the AP by the “president.” ( Small “p” used on purpose.
