The main thing to learn from the Finns is this: they have an authentic education system while ours is totally corrupt and the ability to teach this truth is next to impossible because teachers in our country do not have a seat at the table and are instead on the menu.
I, a powerless teacher, have been warning we’d lose our democracy because of schools since 1995. WhiteChalkCrime.com is where I’m trying to teach this truth we must learn to find our way back. Until this is widely known, we’ll have the country that a corrupt government education system offers, nothing better.
You can learn about this from me to change this. It’s really hard to face this truth because we trust our schools a a if they’re family but once we do we, the people could turn this around. I hope you will join me.
Thanks, Steven: On the ladder, I am on the fourth rung. Canada ranks 25th on the Happiness Scale. They spend approximately $284 billion on social programs, serving a population of 41 million. The USA spends approx. $4 trillion on social programs for a population of 350 million. My Finnish friends like Canada because we have more daylight.
It helps that the Finnish people evidently understand both what supports a decent life--at least in the sense of those public institutions that do, and what is destructive to happiness, which includes injustice, inequality and rabid sociopathy, such as that embodied by Trump and his pal Putin.
Thank you, Mr. Beschloss. I am as confused as the Finns. I suppose we are very fortunate to have lasted as long as we have. I believe in what brought us through the first 248 years and there is no way the current life form in the White House can convince me that he has anything to contribute to life on planet earth.
Steven, I remember enjoying the discussions of Finland’s endearing and sensible approaches to attaining a safe and positive civilization.
In particular: the singing birds elicited a wide smile.
I hold dear your words:
“When we succeed in overcoming the current madness in America…. “
Looking through the glass darkly.
I wonder what our wellbeing meter sits at in 2025. Everything has gotten worse in one year's time.

If only we will start to see, instead of merely looking.
America has declined under the current leadership. It is time for a reckoning; make your votes count in November.

Thank you Steven. A refreshing read. I too hope we make it back to DEMOCRACY 🙏🏽

If only we were as smart as the Finns!!
