According to the Federal Code what happened on J6 was an act of terrorism against the United States of America. The Prima Donald is an anti-American terrorist. The GOP is celebrating an anti-American terrorist.

Absolute cowardice, and a disgraceful display. There is no longer a republican party, that died on January 6th. What exists now are simply cowards and sycophants more interested in keeping proximity to power than keeping the oath they swore. God help this nation!

Awesome sentence: "But Thursday’s meeting was a chilling expression of what craven politicians will do to get and keep power."

They all disgust me. How anyone can vote for them is a mystery to me! Let’s hope they all get voted out of office, sooner rather than later! 😡

💔. And what will happen in 2024 if they vote again not to certify if Biden wins?

From Steven’s article here; excerpt. I agree.

…”It was a miserable, degrading sight as Senate and House Republicans who gave an oath to support and defend the Constitution kowtowed to a criminal who condemns the American system of justice and undermines the rule of law on a daily basis. (Most if not all of these same people refused to certify the results of the 2020 election…”

FRIGHTENING! I just do NOT understand how so many people who SHOULD know better can behave in such idiotic ways. We are in MAJOR trouble unless the intelligent people who can help save our country by voting against this are just being quiet about it. I can totally understand how they would choose to do that, because I am one of them in normal life. I am surrounded by Trump supporters and it is best to keep my personal thoughts and feelings about him QUIET. :(

We need to talk to everyone we know to tell them to look up Project 2025. It is all laid out what we can expect if he is reelected.

This makes it very clear that most elected GOP members are accountable only to their political leader Trump, who happens to be a convicted felon, instead of to the people who voted them into office. It is called dictatorship and if they win, it will automatically become the governance model of the USA. It is as simple as that.

Thank you, Steven Beschloss. If it were not for the people who write encouraging words in various Substacks, I would have lost ALL FAITH in our system of government. Unfortunately, I find watching the supposed Republican leaders applauding this despicable former president disturbing. These elected individuals should be voted out of office at the earliest opportunity. They could not possibly be thinking of anyone except themselves. It’s unbelievable so many in Congress are willing to support a person who makes nasty comments about anyone or anything he dislikes, lies at every turn, and has no allegiance to the laws of this land. He sickens me physically as do the men and women in Congress who are blind to his quest to overthrow this government.

John McCain said after the Helsinki Summit that "Trump had abased himself before a tyrant" and that Trump's comments were "one of the most disgraceful performances by an American president in memory." (CNN, 2018) And his "disgraceful performances" just keep rolling along.

What we learned from his recent visit to Congress is that "he is not the only idiot in the room. " Those Congressional men and women who welcomed Trump back to Congress are all solidly brainwashed - just like the Charles Manson cult who committed nine gruesome and hideous murders in 1979 in California or the Jim Jones cult members who all drank KoolAid laced with poison and they all died - just because their sacred leader said "drink."

The insanity happening across our nation is closely aligned with the massive mind control of Hitler's Germany where he changed an entire peaceful nation into mass murderers based on the same type of hatred that Trump spits out daily. In Germany, over six millions humans were slaughtered. In Russia, Stalin killed over twenty million people, and Putin has been compared to Stalin on a worldwide basis. In fact, Putin is pleased with this label and self-assessment.

The influence of Putin's strategies - to destroy American democracy - are quietly reshaping the trajectory of American politics and American lives. We are seeing this happening NOW. Trump's welcome back to Congress - where his gangsters destroyed the Congressional building, stole valuable artifacts, defecated on the floors, and terrorized members of Congress - was pretermit. If you wish to know how these people could just cease to remember January 6th, it is called BRAINWASHING.

Elizabeth, I keep thinking this country is doing exactly what happened in Germany. Many people

have said it can’t happen here—but it IS. It’s happening right now. We are allowing one man

to foist his obvious mental pathology and mental deterioration onto our country because current

republicans in Congress are monumental cowards!

All they have to do is say, “NO, I’m not going to do

what this imbecile degenerate wants me to do anymore.” Maybe they’ll be voted out of office, but

that’s not the end of life as we know it. If they keep

slobbering over Trump just to keep their seat in Congress they don’t belong there, and it WILL be the

end of every American value millions have died for.

Will no republican take responsibility for doing the right thing? The republicans who’ve left Congress because of Trump aren’t saying what they need to say. They’re apparently content to not have to deal

with it. But they have direct knowledge of and

experience with Trump and his terror tactics, why

aren’t they speaking out about it? If they and “Trump’s Generals” spoke out in a public way, they

could end his nomination for President. They know he’s terribly dangerous and yet they seem unwilling to do anything.

Instead of standing up to a schoolyard bully, they

throw him a birthday party! They should be profoundly ashamed of themselves. The bottom

line is they will go down in history as the enablers

of a man wholly without morals of any kind, who literally enjoys seeing people suffer, while they

stand by.

The Germans wouldn’t have believed it could have happened in their country either. They were smart and cultured. It’s why so many stayed instead of getting out when they could until it was too too late. They just couldn’t believe what would happen was possible. Today we have the advantage of knowing it can happen and how it did happen. I don’t know if this is brainwashing or not, but I’m sure Putins disruption machine is behind much (if not all) of it - with a lot of greed and power seeking thrown in.

Elizabeth and others: We all agree of course that we must fight back to the maximum politically and electorally, but what is the most effective way to spend our resources? May I suggest that we must focus on the most "competitive" Congressional Districts and Senate elections. But we receive appeals for funds from many candidates and incumbents who either are sure winners or impossible losers. By my count there are only 78 truly "competitive" CDs out of 435 seats and 14 Senate elections. And, the most effective method of spending is to register and turn out millions of younger women and men focused on protecting reproductive rights, gun safety legislation and fighting climate change. Please check out www.TurnUp.US which is registering and will turnout those 18 to 29s! TurnUp is run by brilliant Harvard students exclusively in those "competitive" CDs and Senate elections. And TurnUp is a tax deductible C3 charity. Please contribute generously and pass it along to friends and family? Thank you!

Thank you for sharing that! Check out Hopium Chronicles (Simon Rosenberg) also - he has a dozen or so districts with new candidates that are competitive that he’s encouraging us to support directly. He has a lot of resources.

The photo of Trump with his cohorts in Congress brings one thought to mind regarding all of those individuals, something my mom used to say to scare me and my brothers into avoiding certain people and the places they gather, "They sold their souls, now you protect yours!" We were preacher's kids, so we took all that soul talk pretty seriously. Today, it occurs to me that in Steven Beschloss' posts, we are doing that very thing - working to protect the soul of our country, an endeavor for survival of Democracy.
