Here's some good news: Trump is losing his mind, literally. His father died of dementia; his mother of Alzheimer's. You can see and hear the toll it's taking, especially as the Epstein Files debacle closes in on him. He speaks jibberish, no longer the "weave." Just straight up crazy talk. Which will make it harder to convict him of treason for selling 48 F-35's to the Saudi's, who will more than likely offload the tech to China. [Why do they need all those planes?] All so that Trump and Sons can make out like piggy bandits in the Middle East. MBS is a scourge and the honors bestowed on him Tuesday, plus the awful gaud of the Oval Office, made me sick to my stomach. How far America has fallen under this regime. When he is finally gone, we must all join hands in a massive demonstration nation-wide and ask the world for forgiveness for what so low a man has done.

Yes..But. This is the person America wanted to be President. The voters knew exactly what Trump was, and like the Epstein victim, voted for him in spite of that knowledge. We have the Leaders we want - whether they are in the House, Senate or Executive branch - because we choose.

Remember: he only won 49.4% of the vote. If you count the 30Million who stayed home, Kamala’s and a few off brand candidates’ votes, it wasn’t the whole country. Imagine if we can register the huge number of folks who need to; that would result in a midterms rout! And send a message to the world: we are not MAGA!

He won by a nerve-wracking sliver. Easily explained by Russian social media troll farms relentlessly bombarding the uneducated with lies about Democrats and false positives about Trump for months before the election. Trump really DIDN'T win. It was less than 50% of the vote, and the electoral college tallies look awfully fishily close (easy to explain by subtle technological manipulation so as not to create overt suspicion?).

Correction: HALF of America wanted him. PLZ do not include me in that evil, godless cabal.

Nothing can erase the awful taste in my mouth after the REAL “Piggy” dismissed Khashoggi’s murder as “things happen”. I think that quote describes his entire presidency. He is the “Things Happen” president. He stumbles around, obfuscating and blustering. Child rape? “Things happen.” Millions thrown off Medicaid and insurance costs skyrocketing? “Things happen.” Children going without food and medicine and dying without our AID program? “Things happen.” Corruption rampant with his self-dealing and self-enrichment without a peep from Republicans? “Things happen.” Ice agents being paid to arrest people indiscriminately? “Things happen.” Pardons to insurrectionists from January 6? “Things happen.” Investigating and harassing his political enemies? “Things happen.” And on, and on…

You hailed it. His "moral compass" is Things Happen? Each day he spirals deeper and deeper into a pit of human immorality.

What we witnessed was business as usual for him. Total and complete adoration of autocracy. Add Saudi Arabia to the list of autocratic countries that he admires.

Well, Charlie Kirk thought it was acceptable for some people to die every year from gun violence, saying that was the price to be paid for having the Second Amendment. I winder if anyone ever asked him if he was willing to be part of that payment?

The hypocrisy of the Republican Party is evident in everything they do. They're only outraged when bad things happen to them, but then either discount the event or blame the victims, whether it's murder, rape, illness, poverty, or hunger.

Some 'Christians'.

So many cruel so-called “humans” in our Country. It is shocking.

Martha Franklin's avatar

It is. And very discouraging.

What a great point about Kirk. I guess he ended up just being an acceptable statistic.

I believe the $2 billion Jarad Kushner collected was for classified information stolen from the White House.

Judy CZUBATI's avatar

Undoubtedly. Isn’t that being an actual TRAITOR??? As if it matters any more.

The orange Rump MUST be dragged out of OUR Whitehouse, along with his corrupt, incompetent cabinet, NOW.

Craven, decrepit and soulless barely begin to define and describe Donald Trump. Keep in mind that MBS and his Saudi brethren throw homosexuals off the roofs of high buildings. Khashoggi was killed while Bezos owned WaPo. No comment. The pattern of brutal cruelty gets an affirmation from Trump and MBS. Trump's dismissive remarks are chilling. Trump's contract with the Devil has no end date, no expiration date.

"Things happen." This is so stunning as to be unbelievable, but it's true. People should remember that while "things" may happen, murder doesn't just happen.

Thank you for a moment of laugh-out-loud humor in the midst of this absurdity:

"the Oval Office, appropriately decorated like a bordello."

Thanks for noticing.

“Now, legal plunder can be committed in an infinite number of ways. Thus we have an infinite number of plans for organizing it: tariffs, protection, benefits, subsidies, encouragements, progressive taxation, public schools, guaranteed jobs, guaranteed profits, minimum wages, a right to relief, a right to the tools of labor, free credit, and so on, and so on.” - Frederic Bastiat

Same as it ever was. We do not learn from history.

If only Khashoggi had not been “extremely controversial” and more likable" That statement could put Trump in the cross hairs of MBS. Maybe the prince came to get his chainsaw back from Elon.

his reaction was so gleeful. I've never seen him that giddy in public before.

True. And gross.

There is no bottom to Trump’s criminality and depravity. Nor to his narcissism and misogyny. And the sycophancy of those minions in attendance to the MBS spectacle— Rubio and Vance— underscores the shameful nature of this administration.

Elizabeth Ratkovich's avatar

The nearly unanimous approval by Congress of releasing the Epstein files, the disgustingly lavish display for MBS, berating a journalist for doing her job and calling another “Piggy” - this all gives me hope that we are seeing the beginning of the end of this regime.
