We, as a country, are only as strong as our weakest link. We have a lot of weak links, we always have. I can't imagine walking around with that much hate inside. If these people weren't so cruel, I would almost feel sorry for the anguish they must go through, every day of their lives. 45 gave racists and insurrectionists permission to come out into the open. These people were always there, but, now they had a like minded person in the White House. That gave them power and a kind of invincibility, in their minds. The fact that the members of Congress who are complicit in all of this, are still there, angers me to no end. I am sick of criminals of a certain race and mostly gender, get away with such atrocities, especially 45. If our justice system continues on it's path, it's only a matter of time before our whole country dissolves into utter chaos. These are scary times, and we must be better and do better if we are to survive.
Karen, I agree with you. These people have always been out there. They usually don’t vote. But 45 conned them to get out & vote for him. And they did. Here we are. I think ( & Beschloss would know better than me) a majority of Americans do want the same things. They want gun control, voting rights & equality for all Am. So, why aren’t the Sen. voting for these things in DC? We talk about the need for bipartisanship. There’s 2 political groups out there...those that voted & those that did not vote for 45. The group that did not vote for him or his policies were, and still is, comprised of Dem, Ind, Conservatives, & Republicans. You can’t get more bipartisan than that. The politicians are not voting for what their constituents want. Until we vote them out this will continue. Until we remove officials that have violated laws, regulations, etc, this will continue. Until we pass laws that enforce news programs to air facts & all others will be identified as entertainment, Fox Entertainment, instead of Fox News this will continue to happen. Until we get more citizens to see the value in voting, this will continue to happen. We must use this down time to educate our neighbors, friends & family so they will vote. Thanks, Karen, for letting me vent...
Exactly. It seems the only place that bipartisanship doesn't exist is in Congress. They don't seem to be concerned with their constituents, at all. Republicans only care about power and money, at any expense, including our very democracy. The people in Congress that were in anyway involved on 1/6, need to be indicted, expelled and put in prison. Anything less is unexceptable. Keep on venting, Cindy. We're not done trying to save our country.
Thanks, Karen. Yep, it seems never ending. Just when you think the Rep couldn’t go any lower or be more stupid they do and are. It’s exhausting. I am happy that Biden has become firm with his agenda. He’s gotten the ball rolling on gun control, but unless we get more Senators in 2022 it will all be done by executive order. Which is fine with me. I’d rather have temporary change over no change at all. Thinking about all that we need to do makes me want to take a nap! Rest up!
