My COUNTY is a third the size of your TURNOUT, but the beautiful thing was connecting with new people and reconnecting with old acquaintances. The image I thought of yesterday was a tumbleweed - gathering smaller bits and becoming bigger until it’s the size of a vintage VW. A tumbleweed is remarkably strong and resilient -just like us.
One sign I loved said: So Much Wrong/So little cardboard. Another successful, peaceful protest so yay for everyone that participated - even from afar if necessary.
I saw a sign that said “Alexa, change the president”. There were so many good ones. We were in Camden NJ, where we marched from City Hall to Wiggins Park on the Delaware River. The wind was brutal, but we waited until we heard Andy Kim speak. I was riding my mobility scooter, it was so much fun to ride with the marchers. I’m 85 and disabled, but I had a great time. My daughters and I were wearing frog hats. Lots of people took my picture with the sign fastened to the front of my scooter with bungee cords.
