Mike Johnson was known for spending his time traveling to groups in LA - especially churches with a similar message. He would tell the story of 2 wolves and a lamb voting to decide what’s for dinner. He would say that was why ‘you don’t want democracy’ instead of that’s why we don’t have a pure or direct democracy.
The Economist continually updates its data. It is not better. Their categories are underwater, mostly by double digits. The most telling is the comparison between 2024 voters in the map of states & voters now.

Thank you for mentioning Comey's role in Hillary C's defeat in 2016. That "assist" he gave Trump bothers me to this day. But, like you, I don't want to see him persecuted and prosecuted with ridiculous charges, as is happening now. I do admire the way he is standing firm.

This is an indictment over an accusation that he lied about not authorizing a person to leak to the media regarding the HRC case.
He was investigated by the DOJ Inspector General who found nothing. His (and his deputy, McCabe’s) 2017 tax returns (the year he was fired) were “coincidentally” and extensively audited by the IRS in 2019. Lawyers joke that type of audit is “an autopsy without the benefit of death.” The next year he and his wife received a $347 refund for overpaying their taxes. His daughter was recently fired and his son-in-law quit when that office took this to the grand jury.
DJT needed the Comey case out there quickly not only because of the statute of limitations deadline Tuesday, but to move attention away from the Kimmel disaster. He sees no great Comey support on the horizon. Nor any for other prosecutors as the WH slashes its way through DOJ. Another prosecutor, in CA, was just fired for reminding ICE of certain legal limits on their activities.
DJT is showing us who is the boss. A big question is whether enough people care as much about the rule of law when their fave celebrity is not involved.

It made me want to cry…it was such a ‘fatherly’ response in the best sense…calm, soothing, yet resolute and steadfast in its message and tone. While I did not agree with him during the Hillary inquiry back in 2016, I stand with him now. And that, for me, is what it means to be an American. We stand shoulder to shoulder with those who stand for our principles of compassionate justice and freedom, regardless of their party, race and religion. We stand together against tyranny and we are not afraid.
My French father-in-law was labeled a Conscientious Objector during his military duty in France because he refused to be a pall-bearer for General Foch many years ago. For his convictions, he was sent to the front line with Senegalese prisoners who were armed with only machetes, along with five other officers. When it was all over, five men returned and one was my father-in-law. He never wavered from his principles and by some twist of fate, he lived to fight another day.
I was always inspired by his example. In this moment, we, too, are afraid but we can take comfort from each other and march toward truth together. May G-D bless James Comey, Jimmy Kimmel, and others who are now and will be on the front line of this struggle.
The problem is that within the 1787 Constitution the only mechanism to remove DJT is impeachment which was tried twice and failed. The Republicans are too afraid and will not vote to remove him and there is no other mechanism except God calling him to judgement and that is not happening. We MUST MODERNIZE THE SHREDDED CONSTITUTION if we are to save our democracy and freedom by a plebiscite RECALL and we must do it NOW. This will require millions of us to support my efforts NOW.
