Thank you for keeping the focus - and for encouraging the mainstream media to do so as well - upon the story of an odious, jackbooted thug marching over the bodies of fallen heroes in order to promote his own megalomaniacal agenda.
I take exception not only to the lies, lawbreaking, assault, and totally inappropriate disrespectful use of Section 60 but to the sexist remark in the campaign’s lies. Lies within lies. They invoked the old canard about women being irrational, incapable, acting inexplicably due to their hormones.
Specifically: “… for whatever reason an unnamed individual, 𝗰𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗹𝘆 𝘀𝘂𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗮 𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 𝗲𝗽𝗶𝘀𝗼𝗱𝗲, decided to physically block …”
It cannot be excused because members of a certain family or families “gave permission” and are fine with the desecration. They cannot speak for the others who did not. Most cemeteries have rules. You do not own the cemetery or make the rules, you obey them out of respect. It is that simple.
I’ve started to hear people ask with concern, ”is our Government becoming too timid or weak to stand up to individuals like tRump?” A convicted Felon, indicted for perpetuating many other crimes against America. Who does what he wants, disrespects people, lies constantly about things that really are important to our Country’s well being…to say nothing of her citizens. Worse especially if he ever gets near the Oval Office. Furthermore he, et al, poses a physical danger to those who oppose him. His latest travesty, the mockery and total disrespect of our Fallen Heroes, where a Cemetery worker refuses to press charges of being assaulted by his Goons because she fears retaliation! All these things and he has gone without any kind of punitive measures or rebuke. He then abruptly turns on his heel and “casually mentions” he did lose the 2020 Election…so now after four years of denials and disruptions, a near successful insurrection, numerous wasted legal challengers and so on and on…he’s ready say, all is forgotten…lets get on to the next debacle and Debacle it will be! All along speaking of what he is going to do to disrupt our next election. If his mental condition continues its rapid decline he could literally be a drooling on his Tie by the time of Elections…then what? I worry that the doubters (concerning Government resolve) of today will be the disenchanted of tomorrow. To top it off…regarding the CONVICTED CRIMINAL…the Media for the most part are looking at the pretty birdies out the other window.
Tfg just wanted to bring out Abby Gate and put it on Kamala. Plus this guy can never admit wrong and his sycophants are also required to take it up.
It is too much to tell the whole truth. Trump negotiated with the Taliban with the Afghans being part of the discussions.
Any 20 year war cannot be blamed on one president and part of the reason it lasted 20 years was because there was not a president that wanted to appear as the one to surrender.
As usual Joe Biden knew the right thing to do was get us out of there as should have happened at least a decade before.
It is never going to look good when you cannot declare victory.
We didn't declare victory in Vietnam and look how horrible that appeared.I think we are learning that we are the only country suited to lead the world but we better do it with a certain humility.
Even our allies know that the US needs to lead and Joe's experience was well respected because he exhibited humility even if sometimes it appears not to be forceful enough.
Trump manipulated the Goldstar families even if they don't realize it. They were vulnerable and unfortunately there are too many people willing to give him messianic status. I refuse to give him the benefit of anything less than being a narcissist. I saw his personality back in the 80's and have never even watched one episode of the apprentice
The world should never coddle a bully and unfortunately we have failed to hold him accountable in such a half assed way that it is easy for him to play victim.
No you are absolutely correct. The Camp David thing was a step too far - plus it was right about the time of the 9/11 anniversary. It was dropped.
There are several photos re: negotiations - one with only Pompeo & the Taliban guy. The Afghans had no role until the ‘deal’ was made. Then they had responsibilities. - Like having to release prisoners against their stated wishes.
Oops, I meant to say without them being part of the discussions which true or not tfg would not care as long as he got his way. Because, he thinks he is the most important person in the world.
Afghani government was cut out completely. Trump dealt with the Taliban and did his “deal” with the devil. That’s why the Afghan government folded like a cheap suit and absconded as soon as the s- -t started hitting the fan.
Yes, but in the deal they did not agree to, there were things they were supposed to do. Negotiate a government with the Taliban for one. That’s what I meant.
There is another part to the ‘folding’ of the gov’t. This false process raised the status of the Taliban & made the gov’t look weak. The Taliban was able to go into the countryside & get the village elders / leaders to get their allegiance while the ‘talks’ were happening.
Trump pulled out US troops and greatly reduced air support for the Afghan military. When the Taliban made its move in early 2021, the outlying areas fell like dominos. Then they moved on Kabul.
It doesn't matter that some families asked Trump to go to Arlington to honor their fallen families members & that they wanted pictures with him at Arlington. It is against the law to use Arlington (including a picture of a fallen hero whose family was not part of this escapade who didn't want their relative's grave in the photo) as a place to take political photos & photos for the purpose of a political campaign. end of story. Shame on the media for not doing enough to set the story straight.
The guys a pathological liar, "UNFIT" as in an earlier book/CD from when he ran first time. Thank God prominent actual republicans are publicly 'coming out' to vote for Harris/Walz.. WHY can't people see beyond their nose. Steven, keep up the great work - many I forward to people who need to know - and keep after the MSM. TY
I learned everything I needed to know about this incident from the photograph of Donald Trump striking his smug, grinning, thumbs-up pose — over the grave of a young American soldier.
Maybe it’s just me. But that’s the kind of thing that someone might do over the grave of an enemy, or someone they despise – but not over the grave of a young man who selflessly laid down his life in the service of his nation.
That fatuous, clueless, self-centered gesture sums up Donald Trump better than words ever could.
Rita Richards Newhouse - this was placed as a reply to another comment. It was not.

Since he violated federal law, why can he not be charged? Why is he never charged? Why are so many afraid of this man? Where are the voices of the Generals-Kelly, Mattis, McMaster, Milley? Let them and the army speak up, charge him. Gold Star father Khizr Khan was not afraid to speak out. His son is buried there. He remembers trump standing there in 2017 with Kelly whose son is also buried there , saying What was in it for them?trump has the soul of a coward, says Khan. Time for important, influential people to speak the truth, to defy this evil man. Time for all of us to stand up to him come November, to get rid of him. I am sick to death of seeing his picture, listening to his voice, having him occupy my thoughts. So all encompassing is he that he actually appeared in a dream of mine a few nights ago.
Good on you for highlighting the WAPO headline at the beginning of this video. I saw that earlier and was frustrated by the inference that ALL the "grieving families" were offering support to the Orange Abomination in his attacks on Harris.
I've been even more frustrated by the topic you cover in the latter part of the video - the lack of information concerning the participants in the shoving incident. I understand that the cemetery employee who was the victim of this violence (and violence it was) wants to remain anonymous, but there is no reason not to pursue information concerning its perpetrators. That's not just shoddy journalism, it's a dereliction of journalistic responsibility. This is an important story and serious journalists need to keep pursuing it.
Is Steven Cheung capable of embarrassment? Are his parents proud of him?
Thank you. I have been so disappointed and often disgusted with the WaPo and NYT for the way they just treat Trump like a China doll but hold Harris/Walz to these Media imposed standards eons above what they’d ever dream of asking of Trump. I was furious at the NYT list of questions they’d put together that VP Harris OWED THEM TO ANSWER. she doesn’t owe you a thing. NYT bashes Biden in both recent Presidential elections and even after she did her sit down interview they criticized that. Meanwhile their top reporters go to all of Trumps Press ‘conferences’ at his gold club homes and never push back or report on any of the HUNDREDS of lies he tells each time.
POLICY?
Harris has laid out more specific policy than Trump EVER has - including during his four years in office. !!!!!
My one fervent desire is that on Tuesday night, VP Harris has the opportunity to ask "Donald" to repeat the names of the Gold Star families who invited him to Arlington, and the names of their deceased military relatives that he allegedly honored with his presence. I would pay to hear his word salad response to that question.
As for the incident itself, I didn't expect much from the media, so I wasn't surprised or appalled at their reporting of it. I am most angry at Arlington Cemetary management, the Army, and congressional Democrats for their mealy-mouthed "outrage" at the treatment of an employee, and also at the flagrant violation of Section 60 regulations by the Trump campaign. In my mind, the Arlington incident was another autocratic, Trump test of a longtime, revered institution. As Bob W noted in his comment, I am one of those people who has begun to question if our government has become weak? Does the US government have the wherewithal to assertively push back on Trump, the MAGAs, and our home-grown oligarchs to enforce rules, regulations, and laws, and fine or prosecute offenders effectively?
Thank you for keeping the focus - and for encouraging the mainstream media to do so as well - upon the story of an odious, jackbooted thug marching over the bodies of fallen heroes in order to promote his own megalomaniacal agenda.

That should have been halted 50 years ago.
Did you mean “with the Afghans being part of the discussions”? I think they were assigned a role later.
I was under the impression that he was negotiating with the Taliban and had even considered inviting them to Camp David.
Regardless, I would not have a different opinion about this corrupt and truly despicable thing.

Media Misses or the story of how trump got away with screwing over the country and selling out to foreign influence.

My comment is not exactly on target for this post but we Americans need to build a fire under GW Bush. Dick Cheney just endorsed Harris.
Okay, G.W. Your turn.
