Two of my closest friends of many, many years are Jews. I have worked with Jews. I have worked for Jews. I briefly studied Judaism at Seminary. I will never understand the hostility toward Jews. The hatred, the hostility and the IGNORANCE are appalling. I wonder how Jared Kushner feels? Oh, No matter. He wields the money. Even Al Capone had a Jew on his payroll.

Not all Jews are good. Not all Gentiles are good. Yet, I reflect on the magnanimous naming gifts to colleges and hospitals bequeathed by Jewish families. I reflect on some of our world's greatest musicians, playwrights, and authors: Jews. The anti-Semites do not know what the hell they are fighting. The majority know zip about Judaism. The majority likely have never even met a Jew. The Charlottesville mantra, "The Jews will not replace us" is altogether asinine and reveals the total stupidity of those calling out that refrain.

Donald J. Trump is poison; a deadly toxin; lethal. Those who follow and support him are America's worst. They are our society's screaming hyenas, a vicious and desperate breed lost in the shallows of mournful idiocy. Trump is politics' anti-Christ. Let there be no doubt about that.

I seem to go between 2 extremes almost daily about what might happen after the election. Sometimes I’m pessimistic and think millions of “Magats” will hit the streets in support of Trump’s “stolen” election.

But then other times hope and sanity take over and I think millions of Trump’s supporters will just say, “Screw it. I’m not going out there. He’s not worth the money/time/support I’ve spent on this tired, broken down orange man.”

Where are you?

I’m pretty much the same as you. Most times, I think we’re going to be safe, but there are times when I worry for my children and grandchildren. It’s not something we can predict, we will just have to deal with whatever happens.

If I live to be two hundred, I’ll never figure out how people can look at him and think “I think he should have the nuclear codes”.

Trump continues his lightly veiled anti-Semitic remarks, imitating the Nazi blame culture that led to the Holocaust. Do voters really want this man in the seat of power?

Exactly, Steven. Trump and his fellow-fascists are laying the groundwork for their actions once he loses the election: in other words, they will blame religious groups, minorities, immigrants and the establishment in order to spread hatred and foment violence. We simply must win by a tidal wave to drown them out.

It is long past time for voters to stop pretending a bigot who is a threat to those who oppose him including donors, who wants to be a dictator & calls anyone in his way treasonous can run the country in a way beneficial to their wallet. If you’re not a well placed US oligarch in waiting you’re on the chopping block like the rest of us. Your wallet will be as empty as your hopes and dreams; as empty as the path he will carve for our country.

Donald John Trump is always looking for scapegoats. Scapegoats are useful to demagogues and authoritarians. Trumplandia is full of anti-Jewish tropes, accusations and conspiracies. Now he is desperate and more dangerous. We’ve seen what he claims his other scapegoats deserve.

The difference being there is no historical precedent for a US president calling for the death of his VP or former members of his administration. No precedent for a US president promising pardons to law enforcement who do his bidding or violent criminals who try to fulfill his wishes.

(Like other haters truth is not important. It is common for bigots to spew ugly things about a group of people and make exceptions for “my friend”, family or colleague.)

Proud daughter of Holocaust victims here. So tired of this man’s hateful rhetoric and grateful that my parents aren’t alive to witness the vitriol. They came to this country seeking acceptance and freedom so that they could thrive. They accomplished that goal in spite of raising their two daughters in rural NC. If they were verbally attacked, we never heard about it. They loved this country so much and it tears me apart that we have the most corrupt and bigoted people in high places in our government. If you will notice, ex-prez speaks very clearly, not slurring his words when he speaks about Haitians or Jews. His true self shines through a d we know who he is. For his followers to cast a vote for this criminal is an abomination. They too, should be addressed as the scum they are. Hitler took cyanide before the troops got him. I’d rather see ex-prez and company attached to iron-clad balls and chains.

Marlene, I don't have Holocaust survivors in my immediate family but my grandparents and great-grandparents fled here from the Pale of Settlement. I agree with everything you say. I'm glad my father isn't alive to see this either. He fought against it in WWII and now this happens? Shame on these miserable excuses for human beings.

A few years back I was treated at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. One story that I will always remember is a a 40- ish year old woman attending to me. At one point she sheepishly asked if I was Jewish. When she learned that I was a look of shock came over her face. Well you are very nice! I’ve never met a Jew before. I assured her that at a large medical center there are always Jewish people and that certainly she had interacted with many of us. How can people who don’t even know us, decide to hate us?

I have noted elsewhere (but perhaps not fully fleshed out) how disturbing it is to witness firsthand America’s succumbing, at least in part, to this Trump cult.

I had always wondered at 1930s Germany submission to young Chancellor Hitler: How could that possibly happen? The fervid antisemitism, the shameless lies. Now I know better.

You’re talking about someone who has attacked our government from within, and is guilty of all of the things that are on the list of offenses he has committed. Not to mention responsible for the unnecessary deaths of hundreds of thousands of Americans. Someone is going to have to explain to me why this domestic terrorist has not been made an offer he can’t refuse.

Desperate times, desperate measures..

I am embarrassed for America when I see or hear anything tRump in association with the Office of the President. With the unbelievable chance, a virtual 50 - 50 chance at that, of the most powerful, influential office in the World falling into the dangerous, dirty, criminal hands of a dirtbag like tRump…it takes one’s breath away. As it is…Win or lose he will continue to blight the image of America and it’s many, many good Citizens. In my Heart of Hearts…as a finale to the trouncing he received during the Debate at the hands of the VP…I had hoped the lights of his Campaign would have faded into darkness like a Generator running out fuel…but alas it wasn’t to be. It’s now in the hands of the American Voter! May we Persevere!

When I first heard this statement, my initial response was "well, good for Jews: lets all of us, including Jews, replace you." But then the idea of stochastic terrorism came bounding to the foreground. YIKES. And as you point out, the trope of "blame the Jews" goes far, far back. (It has always amused me that the "Christ Killer" smear ignores the fact that if "they" hadn't done so there would have been no one to be resurrected.)

"Gave them Golan?" Only trump has recognized the Golan Heights as belonging to Israel. The rest of the international community disagrees: the consensus is that it is Syria's, in large part, though Syria doesn't seem to mind Lebanon claiming it. I suppose one of the things Biden could do is rejoin the international community on this one, though I doubt it would stop Bibi.

Given the choice of supporting Jews or the "very fine people" of the Charlottesville march, can anyone honestly wonder what the choice would be?

trump supporters in their ignorance, have compared him to Jesus, maintained he is the Savior. Jesus was a Jew.The 1st 4 chapters of the New Testament tell of his Jewish birth, up bringing, preaching goodness, mercy, love, forgiveness. The Bible trump held upside down proclaims the Jews are God's favored people. And this lying, cheating, cruel ignoramus encourages hatred of them. Throughout history, people have slandered them, accused them of running the government & any thing having to do with money. Jealousy I think. And plenty of those who practice Judaism are far from rich. A friend of mine, now gone, after her husband's death, got a job as a photographer of babies, hardly a money making venture.

Fascists must constantly have someone to beat on, blame. For trump, it seems to be all who are not WASPS. Well, guess what. He is not white, he is orange. And like that word with which nothing rhymes, there is no one else I know of that "rhymes" with him except Hitler, a killer of 6million Jews. And like trump, he, too, had Jewish relatives.

But he's also blaming Ds for not supporting Israel. People hear what they want to hear. See what they want. Ignore opposing views. What normal American with a basic education supports Trump? The revelations are profuse and have been there for years. He compares himself to a conniving dishonest snake. How do you explain any support much less a cliff hanger election???
