I describe Trump's condition as "demon derangement syndrome". He is evil to his core. He is dangerous to the world. As a USAF Veteran who served in Intel from '62 - '66 receiving an Honorable Discharge and three commendations, I wonder how these young Troops regard Trump. JFK was my Commander-in-Chief, then Johnson. I revered our president. Fast forward to today. I see nothing reverent about Trump. Nothing to be respected or to be proud of. I see a man to be pitied, scorned, disliked; even despised. He is a man consumed with personal grievances who launders those grievances on the world stage routinely. I simply wish he would grow up and shut up. Trump is a cruel and relentless crybaby. We, the people, and especially our Troops, deserve better. As does the world at large.

Steven I saw a report that he was also requiring some top military officials to sign NDA’s. That has to be illegal.

Judy Steiner's avatar

They are legal, but rarely used. The military is already bound by law to the UCMJ and the Espionage Act. NDAs do not override legal obligations to report to Congress.

The Mad King on full display. When will it stop? When will the cowardly Republicans do something, ANYTHING, to stop him? Given that Trump's MAGA base is jumping ship over Epstein. But they do nothing. Thanks, Speaker Sycophant Johnson, for doing less than nothing. Shameless.

Thank you for clarifying Article I of the Constitution giving only Congress certain Rights.

Off course zi had to read it and found other interesting Congressional Rights granted by the Constitutionβ€” if only they would utilize them.

Briefly:

Section 8 contains but is not limited to:

β€œTo define and punish Piracies and Felonies committed on the high Seas, and Offences against the Law of Nations;”

β€œTo declare War, grant Letters of Marque and Reprisal, and make Rules concerning Captures on Land and Water;”

β€œTo raise and support Armies, but no Appropriation of Money to that Use shall be for a longer Term than two Years;”

…

β€œTo provide for calling forth the Militia to execute the Laws of the Union, suppress Insurrections and repel Invasions;”

β€œTo provide for organizing, arming, and disciplining, the Militia, and for governing such Part of them as may be employed in the Service of the United States, reserving to the States respectively, the Appointment of the Officers, and the Authority of training the Militia according to the discipline prescribed by Congress;”

He started with a certain General Kelly, his first chief of staff, who called his boss a "fucking asshole. Then he prevailed upon his "Secretary of War" to call all of the Generals and Admirals to Washington to deliver a similar message as today's in Japan to lower ranking officers (presumably) and their troops or seamen. This is so pathetic and contrary to the laws and traditions of our military services. As you said, Steven, it sounded like a campaign address where he or his handlers place a bunch of morons who feed on his every word. Here in Japan, though, I'd guess that his railling fell on deaf ears. And to all, keep in mind that all servicemen take the same oath at their enlistment, "To fight all enemies, foreign and domestic, and protect and defend the Constitution of the United States of America."

Thank You Steven ...I am losing all hope.. if we don't have an economic boycott soon I don't see what is going to change things. The gop is in charge .. They don't have a conscience ..I think they only thing they will understand is pressure from all of us . Call out sick if you can. All of us seniors refuse to spend our money... No shopping online or stores .no movies or theater or restaurants .. I think that is maybe what will wake them up or not..Businesses won't like it.. No need to fill the tanks because no one is going anywhere. Why doesn't some of our leaders start a movement to do something. The 2026 election is to far away .. What if he decides to bull doze the whole White House so he can put in a "better" building ? What or who is to stop him .. Maybe he will use Mar -a -Lago as his winter WH while they construct a brand new building. Somebody do something. lost in america.

Short answer: that site and story aren’t reliable, and there is no Supreme Court injunction on this matter.

Here’s what I verified:

That’s a red-flag baseline. οΏΌ

The linked article itself: It’s labeled under β€œNFL,” mixes celebrity clickbait,

NPR has this

A Virginia couple sued the Trump administration on Thursday in an attempt to halt the ballroom project. Charles and Judith Voorhees asked a federal judge to issue a temporary restraining order to stop further destruction to the mansion, saying the project moved forward "without legally

required approvals or reviews." READ MORE: Who's paying for Trump's

$300 million ballroom? Several preservation groups have expressed

concern in recent weeks about the project, which is the first major change to the

exterior of the White House in 83 years. Collectively, their separate statements said a more transparent and thorough review process was needed before the ballroom

project got underway.

Communication about how the ballroom project would affect the main structure of the building was confusing from the beginning, said Priya Jain, chair of the Society of Architectural Historians’ Heritage Conservation Committee.

I suspect they are tiring of him. Mike Johnson previously said DJT was trolling about 2028. This time he said, smiling, β€˜there’s no path’ for a 3rd term & they’ve discussed it. That means DJT was called out publicly as a lame duck by not just the Speaker but the guy before being speaker who led the effort in the House to finagle away around certifying Biden’s election (as a Constitutional attorney).
