I am sickened by ABC .. Terry Moran has always been an excellent reporter. I remember him covering court TV .. His coverage of the huge trials was amazing. What happened to these networks.. They are thinking about profit and acquisitions. They are part of our downfall. As we decend into a crumbling embarrasement of a nation .. I don't want to hear the word exceptional ever again.

Terry Moran’s great 👊👊 new Substack newsletter. ABC’s firing of Moran is stomach turning but I never had huge respect for ABC. My tally of major U.S. news outlets that have capitulated to Herr Trump includes ABC, NBC, CBS, MSNBC and NY Times. I’ve been horrified by NY Times steady decline throughout the past decades. Despite Bezos’ outrageous ban on Wash Post’s endorsement of Harris, Wash Post has been publishing superb articles by outstanding journalists.

Obviously, none of the top executives of these organizations watched Good Night and Good Luck last Saturday. They could be heroes but choose to be cowards in these times.

I believe that, ultimately, Terry's firing was under pressure from the WH. Real pressure, not just implied. Nothing Trump hates more than being called out. Terry did a masterful interview that did just that, and Trump was pissed. ABC's loss is Midas' gain!

ABC's capitulation to Trump is a sickening disgrace. We have, in the network, another example of a corporation placing immediate expedience over morality and the commitment to truth. Is it any wonder, when the mainstream press has abdicated its responsibilities to real journalism, that we are now on the verge of becoming a full-blown dictatorship? Shame on the press for its complicity!

Stephen Miller is such a caricature of an S.S. officer that he would make Goebbels blush. But when as warped a character as this is appointed as a "White House Deputy Chief of Staff for Policy" and is encouraged to implement policies that are designed to cause untold suffering and misery across our country, it is absolutely incumbent on our press to investigate this character's background and expose who he truly is. Stephen Miller was a kid who used to eat dried glue off his arm when he was a student at Franklin Elementary School in Santa Monica. His already warped nature got totally bent out of shape when his family had to move out of their ritzy home (albeit into a somewhat less ritzy one) because his rich father, who had substantial real-estate holdings, ran into deep financial trouble as a result of damage to his rental properties during the Northridge earthquake in 1994. Miller's nascent racism metastasized at Santa Monica High School where he openly expressed his hatred of the custodial staff and fellow students who were Latino or from immigrant backgrounds. Should this guy be working in the White House shaping national policy?

By the way, as a result of Stephen Miller's prodding, there are now 4,000 national guardsmen and 700 marines on the streets of Los Angeles. Where is the outrage in the mainstream press at this abhorrence?

I suspect that Stephen Miller is actually in charge at the White House.

Bravo! Something that doesn't get discussed enough (IMO anyway) is that "the press" doesn't look much like it did when the First Amendment was written, or even when I was growing up in the mid-20th century. The "legacy media" overlap heavily with the "corporate media," especially when cable and TV networks are included. They're not free, i.e., independent, in any sense of the word.

And as to "objectivity" -- arrgghh! One, it's not possible, and two, when one political party has become blatantly anti-democratic and anti-First Amendment, both-sides-ing it is synonymous with cutting one's own throat.

With the exception of Jimmy Kimmel. If ABC silences him, that is the end.
