I hesitated sharing this video with you. Like so many others, I’m stunned and deeply saddened by the murder of the compassionate human, advocate of democracy and gifted creative artist, Rob Reiner, and his photographer wife, Michelle. This follows two other heartbreaking acts of violence this weekend when two gunmen targeted and killed at least 15 people at a Jewish Hanukkah event in Sydney, Australia (25 others remain in hospital) and a gunman killed two people and wounded nine others at Brown University in Rhode Island.
These heartbreaking events have caused me to quietly reflect on the violence and inhumanity that continues to grip our world. But I felt compelled to share this video after the man who occupies our White House responded to the Reiner killing by attacking him, lying about what happened and exploiting the event to praise himself. This is sick. This is evil. And I couldn’t let it go without responding.
